This essay collection manages to be diverse in terms of ethnicity, gender, and social class, but not so much in terms of jobs — a lot of entertainers and journalists are present. It‘s an interesting book, but its audience is women who are quite a bit younger than me who are just beginning to consider feminism. Some of the essays are good while others are just okay. Low end of the pick scale.

TrishB I passed it on to my daughter- more her age group. But I still read it! 5y
KathyWheeler @TrishB I think it‘s more for women my daughter‘s age as well; she‘s 25. 5y
TrishB Mines 17 but reads a lot of feminist literature so just her thing. 5y

I think I‘m almost finished with this. Got in a walk by the bay today, so there was a nice breeze. It‘s supposed to be nasty and rainy the rest of this week, so I guess my exercise will be inside.

Today‘s #audiowalk book. The bottom picture is the really cool pair of socks and nice, personal card I got from @wanderinglynn for winning the #bookfitnesschallenge drawing last week. I love them. I also love that pretty red envelope they came in.

wanderinglynn So happy you got it and I‘m glad you like the socks. You can thank @Mitch for the envelope. I‘m a big believer of reusing/recycling. That‘s one she sent me. ☺️ 6y
KathyWheeler @wanderinglynn I now can‘t wait till it gets cold enough to wear socks again — which will probably be in November. 😊 6y

So many books and so little time! Does anyone else find that books reference other awesome-sounding books, which reference other awesome-sounding books, which leads to a huge TBR pile that never gets smaller?!

I enjoyed this a lot. So much so, I blasted through it in its entirety this evening. A lot of diverse pieces from women of different backgrounds, which kept it interesting.

I have at least one true sexist in my life and I‘ve recently started to be more than mildly unpleasant to him, in pretty much the same way he has been mildly unpleasant to me. He didn‘t like it at all. Good.

The book was okay. Not the eye opening bundle of essays I expected. But still an okay read. It is nice to read about other women‘s visions on feminism. And if you are new to feminism and are still trying to find your place in the movement, I can imagine it‘ll do more for you.

Most of these essays were awe inspiring or informative about various things going on in feminism today. Aimed at those a bit younger than me but I still enjoyed them. Although I still find it sad that it‘s all still needed. I did not like the Keira Knightly digs at Kate Middleton after childbirth, surely number one rule - be kind to other women (people!) you don‘t know what they‘re going through. This just came across as nasty.

Eyelit That‘s really disappointing of Keira 6y
zsuzsanna_reads I thought she had pretty severe hyperemesis. I had pretty severe hyperemesis too and roughly at the same time as her last pregnancy - she seemed better this time around - and the comments in the media were shocking. Look, she's too thin! (Yea 6y
zsuzsanna_reads (I lived on one slice of toast a day for weeks.) Look, she's gained more weight than last time! (Can't they just be glad she's not as sick this to me?) It's a traumatic enough experience without the media piling onto you... 6y
TrishB @Eyelit @zsuzsanna_reads I think it must be hard enough living your life in the eye of the media for anyone! 6y

I got distracted doing other things and planned to renew this book only to discover it wasn't renewable so I only had 2 days to read it! Luckily, because it's a collection of pieces of writing, it was very easy to breeze through. I loved reading all the different stories and learning about all the cool organizations working to help society move towards total equality. Highly recommend!

Designed for young women but also enjoyable for established feminists, this book draws from many voices to discuss what feminism is, how to get involved, and why it is so vital for women to support one another. It has a positive, empowering, intersectional message.

Jee_HookedOnBookz I was about to comment on the title until I saw the title in full 😊👍🏼Yes, it is so important that we women stand united and fight for our rights to be heard and respected, together! 6y
