I‘ve been reading Pippa‘s Prince Assassins books that she writes under the pseudonym Ariana Nash and was curious to see her other stuff, thought I would start with her Messenger Chronicles, a science fiction/fantasy mashup ✨✨✨

DaveGreen7777 I really enjoyed this one! Hope you do too! 😀 4y

#WondrousWednesday Thank you for the tags, @Eggs and @Texreader 😁

I - I stayed up too late reading “The Stand” just last night! 🙈

II - Tagged! A book buddy of mine loves reverse-harem romance novels and dared me to buddy read this one with her! The genre was way out of my comfort zone, but the story was so good, I wound up loving it!

III - I remove the dust jacket while reading.

Meaw_catlady Thanks for the tag!! 🖤 5y

Branwen Thanks for the tag, friend! I am not surprised AT ALL that the Stand kept you up late! 😂🤣 It's sooooo good! 💖 5y

DaveGreen7777 @Branwen You‘re welcome! HA HA, Becky, “The Stand” is so good, I wouldn‘t be surprised if you stayed up too late reading it even though this is the second time reading it for you! 😁 5y

Pickpick

This was my first Pippa DaCosta book, but it definitely won‘t be my last! I was so impressed with all the surprising turns the story took. Every time I thought I had figured out what was going to happen, the author fooled me by going in a completely different direction.

An exciting blend of fantasy and science fiction with a swashbuckling heroine who wields a magical whip and gets into so many fights, Indiana Jones would have trouble keeping up!

Branwen I'm sort of in love with that cover! 😍 6y
DaveGreen7777 I think you‘d really like this book, Becky! 😀 Probably not quite as much as you‘re loving Leviathan Wakes, but I could still see this being a five-star read for you! 6y

I‘ve noticed many wonderful people on here using Bookly, so when a friend invited me to buddy read “Shoot The Messenger” with her, I decided to try Bookly for myself. And while I knew I was a slow reader, I didn‘t realize I was “3 to 4 minutes a page” slow! 😳

Still, a book like this, where everyone has secrets and tantalizing clues are being dropped along the way, maybe it‘s better to savor every page instead of reading through too quickly!

Louise Yes! Some books are so well-written that every line invites us to savor it! 6y
DaveGreen7777 Thank you so much, @Louise , I completely agree with you! 😊 6y

Branwen What is Bookly? Color me intrigued, my friend! 😁 6y
DaveGreen7777 @Branwen It‘s an app that kind of works like a Fitbit for reading. You start it when you‘re reading and it acts like a timer, when you‘re done you mark the page you got to, and it calculates how long it took you to go through how many pages and what your average read time per page is! I‘m loving it so far! 😀 6y
Branwen @DaveGreen7777 That sounds really interesting! 😀 6y
Xeno No shame in that, thanks for sharing, I‘m a slower reader too! 6y
MaGoose It matters more that you're reading and enjoying yourself than how fast you're going. I'm a slow reader too. 6y
DaveGreen7777 @Xeno Thank you! 😊 6y
DaveGreen7777 @MaGoose Excellent point! Thank you! 😀 6y
DivaDiane I‘m also a slow-ish reader (especially compared to a lot of people here on Litsy and my 8 year old son 😳). I‘ll bet your retention is really high. And yes, many books are simply worth savoring. 6y
DaveGreen7777 Good to know it‘s not just me who‘s a slow reader, @DivaDiane Thanks! 😊 6y
GrilledCheeseSamurai I'm so excited for this to come out on Android! Can't wait for a new bookish app to play with! 😁 6y
DaveGreen7777 @GrilledCheeseSamurai I hope Bookly gets released on Android soon. More people need to be able to use this app! 😀 6y
Geeklet Is it worth getting the pro version? I‘ve only used Bookly for one book so far but I‘ve enjoyed using it. 6y
DaveGreen7777 @Geeklet Personally, I real like the Pro version. It lets you play 7 different kinds of ambient noise while it‘s running (which I find helps me concentrate more on what I‘m reading, as I‘m one of those people who don‘t like complete silence). Also, there aren‘t any pop-up ads on the Pro version. For $2.50 a month, I find it well worth the money. Hope this helps! 😊 6y
