Thirteen Days by Sunset Beach

It's Ray's and Sandra's first family holiday in Greece, on the island of Vasilema. The skies are cloudier than anywhere else in Greece, and they're intrigued by local eccentricities--the lack of mirrors, the outsize beach umbrellas, the saint's day celebrated with an odd nocturnal ritual. Why are there islanders who seem to follow the family wherever they go? Why do Sandra and the teenage grandchildren have strangely similar dreams? Has Sandra been granted a wish she didn't know she made? Before their holiday is over, some of the family may learn too much about the secret that keeps the island alive.FLAME TREE PRESS is the new fiction imprint of Flame Tree Publishing. I‘ll be honest, I was hoping for something a little different from this book. The idea of a family vacation on a Greek island being overshadowed by a dark, menacing evil sounded great, but it was too slow for me. Tense moments were a little too spread out to really build, and the only truly scary moment came about 15 pages before the end. The family‘s dynamics were interesting, but I don‘t know. It just didn‘t click for me.

Texreader That‘s disappointing…nothing like a thriller lacking thrills. 7mo

A family goes to a island for vacation. Ray the Grandfather knows something is not right about the islanders.
Not my cup of tea but others might like it.
