My Halloween shirt arrived today! 👻📚🎃

This was a strange little book with different but very good creepy stories. These are loosely tied together through a sort of frame narrative which, however, towards the end kind of gets lost. Eventually things become very ‘meta‘. 4 out of 5 stars.

I want a fireplace at home!!! It makes for such cosy reading in our holiday cottage on cold blustery nights like this one. Everyone else has gone to the pub while I‘m staying in with the kid who is already asleep. So time for a bit of quiet reading. Not sure this is the right book for being alone though. Might have to switch to something less creepy. 🤪🙈

Very interesting construction and a keen awareness of the power folkloric tales can have. It loses its way a bit in places, but never fails to keep you interested as if develops.
