As a huge dog lover, I came into this book expecting it to be some kind of personification of a dog with human thoughts. However, I was pleasantly surprised the way this book came out!
"Hey! I was starting to like Nance. And the faint smell of pot coming off her? So what? It's everywhere, amigo."
Dogs!!! A recommendation from my best friend. I'm excited for a myatery as fall approaches!
The story is told from Chet‘s point of view. It took a chapter or two at the start of the book for me to remember/get used to this, but after that, I quite enjoyed the dog‘s POV. It added some humour and we got to see some things that Bernie didn‘t get to see, particularly between Chet and Princess. I didn‘t like Princess, initially (neither did Chet), but she grew on me (as she did Chet), and I quite enjoyed their interactions after that.
I can't get enough of Chet and Bernie! I enjoyed this mystery even more than the first. They are always entertaining, but also have a surprising amount of heart (and feels). A great escapist listen! My library does not have Book 3 on audio, so I've got it on hold in print. I'm interested to see if the series holds up for me in that format.
Princess the show poodle is #missing, but don't worry, Chet and Bernie are on the case. Such a fun, clever series! #maybookflowers.
My bff: Bella, Bells, Stinky, Toddy, Totson (among other nicknames). She is a rescue who acclimated quickly to the finer things. Most nights she steals my pillow. #puppylove
Chet the Jet is by far my favorite narrator. If you ever wondered what goes on inside your dog's head - wonder no more. ❤️🐶 #bestnarrator #octphotochallenge
