

3.5/5 the drama and angst was figured out faster and more satisfyingly than I hoped.
May catches her girlfriend cheating in Alec‘s bar and Alec carries her out before things get out of hand. He ends up helping her move out. May thinks Alec is the perfect rebound, but soon there is more than just steamy sex between them. I enjoyed this one. I laughed and cried. There are some heavier issues as May is a recovering alcoholic and both have issues with their families. This is book 5 in Bowen‘s True North series and I haven‘t read the⬇️
I feel like I should like Sarina Bowen‘s books more than I do so I still try the ones that call to me and this one did so I gave it a go...and abandoned it at about 20% because nothing was happening. I read another book then felt compelled to try again and I‘m glad I did. I really enjoyed the last 80%. The characters feel like real people and they were pretty adorable in figuring each other out. Still, I could‘ve done with less in the beginning.
