What can I say but wow, wow, WOW!! So many cool goodies!! Three chocolate bars 😋 All the food looks (& smells) amazing! I didn‘t realize Aplets & Cotlets were from WA. My husband‘s grandma used to send them to us at Christmas, & I really like them. I can‘t wait to get into the books. I love the haunted history/weird history genre. And Ted Bundy! I forgot he was PNW. I admit I was hoping for something Bigfoot - love the sticker! #hometownswap

MicrobeMom Wow! Great package! 6y
CSeydel What you can‘t see in the photo is Andrea has added Post-it‘s to the Tacoma history books with cool tidbits of information. Thank you all the thought you put into this! You noted the Jennifer Bastian murder case ... I don‘t know if you know that I‘m a science writer, and I just did a piece on Parabon Nanolabs, the company whose “genetic genealogy” service led to the arrest in that case. I covered the Tacoma PD press conference (online). (edited) 6y
AWahle What a cool coincidence! And I'm glad you like Aplets & Cotlets; we also got those every Christmas when I was growing up in Texas. I wish I'd sent a bigger box of them. 6y

CSeydel @AWahle So I typed too soon - Parabon found the murderer in the Michella Welch case, which was around the same time as Jennifer Bastian but turned out not to be the same guy. I knew the name sounded familiar, but after I typed that comment I had a feeling I was remembering something wrong. 6y
CSeydel Thank you so much for organizing @readinginthedark and @MicrobeMom This was such a cool idea! 6y
AWahle The community was just so happy both murders were solved. Weird that it was within weeks of each other. 6y
readinginthedark You're welcome! 6y

Repost for @Kenny :
Anyone into creating a #Tacoma Litsy group? I don‘t know what we‘ll do yet, but the bookstore will contribute a bunch of awesome galleys and we can do what we love most—talk about books. Leave a comment if you‘re interested. @LitsyHappenings #PNWLitsyMeetup

Kenny Definitely message me if you‘re interested. We already have some fun ideas. 6y
BadLibs I'm new to the city, so I'd love to get in on this! 6y

You can't tell very well from the picture, but the toy is a mermaid matryoshka. The flowers are on my porch, the shoes are my favorite tennis shoes, and the donut was my breakfast. Enjoying the #manicmonday as a day off. #colorcollage

Chelsey The book looks interesting. I live in Seattle and haven't done much reading about local history 7y
JoScho The nesting dolls are awesome 💚💚💚 7y
AWahle @Chelsey There are some great books out there! I started with the local history section at HPB and my local independent store King's. 7y

Sweettartlaura We kinda have one 🙂. I‘ve pulled whoever I could find into my Meetup, Ex Libris Tacoma. @AWahle is there, as is @respekt1111 ; @KB253 joined the book club, & then I talked her into joining Litsy. You are welcome to join us - last Thursday of the month at Doyle‘s at 6. 🙂This month we‘re reading 7y
Sweettartlaura I would love to talk more about how we join forces, though - awesome galleys are a favorite of all of ours ❤️ 7y
Sweettartlaura Also, we‘ve done a couple Litsy meet ups for PNWers. The first was in Seattle a few months ago. The second is happening today in Portland. Next up is Tacoma. @MinDea & I talked about it at the Fredrik Backman event this week. King‘s Books will be the focus. Let‘s talk more about it & how we can show our friends how awesome a community #tacoma is ❤️ 7y

Kenny If we make it officially a Litsy thing, we can make them send us swag and I can give away galleys. I just gave the first two to @AWahle. 7y
MinDea @Kenny I would love to participate in something. I am up in Seattle though. Can we somehow make it a #PNW thing instead of just Tacoma or not really? I can make it to Tacoma every now and then depending on schedules. @Jeannie any interest here? 7y
MinDea I would be happy to help figure out how this would work for Litsy if you want some help! 7y
Sweettartlaura @Kenny will you be at the bookstore Monday? I can stop by around 5, chat about it a bit? 7y
Kenny I‘m open to anything. 7y
Kenny @Sweettartlaura: Yes, I‘ll be at the bookstore 11-7 on Monday. 7y
Sweettartlaura Perfect - I‘ll see you then & we‘ll combine ideas/forces/activate wonder twin powers 🙂 7y
AWahle @Sweettartlaura I've got Monday off and can be there to add more gray matter to the grand plan! 7y
Sweettartlaura @AWahle ok it‘s officially a meeting - let‘s say 5:15 so I have a few minutes to change. See you then. 7y
Jeannie @MinDea Possibly! Tacoma is a bit far for me to visit on a regular basis but the PNW meetup kind of thing would be great. 7y
BookishJess02 Sounds like an awesome idea to me! 7y
Kenny @WhovianNerd: Jessica, you must join us! 7y
RainyDayReading Sounds like a lot of fun! Too bad I‘m about an hour and a half north of Tacoma. Hope you enjoy yourselves! 6y
