Auley was the book I‘ve been waiting for! I love a good “I‘m scarred/ugly, but an amazing guy” trope. I was a little worried about the amnesia trope- because consent. Sands did it really well though. I read this book in one sitting! All the crazy drama of the Buchanan‘s finding another wife that someone else is trying to kill 😂

This is not the book I wanted for Aulay. God almighty, but I absolutely loathe amnesia tropes. They are #1 on my Shitty Romance Tropes list. Consent issues run rampant. This one wasn‘t as bad as most - they don‘t do the nasty before Aulay breaks it to her they aren‘t married but they do get RUL handsy. Still a readable, bananapants Sands historical. They even joke about how the Buchanans uniquely attract women with murderers after them.
