Finished this book last night in my favorite reading spot. The puppy was feeling left out so he had to be in the picture too! Lots of drama, moves fast, and will make you smile what more could you want from a summer read.
#HeyJune #WeCanWorkItOut
This novel popped up in my head for today's prompt as there is so very much to be worked out in it. Four female friends have almost every issue you can think of in the decade the book covers--some issues are with each other, most are within their own lives, & sometimes it all intersects. It's got dark spots/subjects, but humor & lighter moments too & it's set in various beach locations in Britain-so a good summer read.🌞
#MarchIntoOz #TheHoneymoonIsOver 🖤For one of the characters in this novel about four friends, the honeymoon is over before it even begins when she finds out that her husband is an abuser--on her wedding night. (Despite this and other heavy issues, the book is not a downer.) Collage photos from Pinterest
Episodic and soap-y novel of female friendship with every issue you can think of but ultimately easy, breezy, and engaging. Full review at https://booknaround.blogspot.com/2018/02/review-story-of-our-lives-by-helen.html
Good thing I looked at my review schedule as I need to have this one finished by Wednesday. Cracking it open now!
I'm a bit of a sucker for books about women's friendships-especially over years, even decades as they grow & evolve. Sophie, Melissa, Amy & Emma's lives are covered from 1997-2007 as they meet up for 'girl's weekends' & share good times & bad while keeping some big secrets. A good escape novel-heavier subjects, paired with lighter moments. Here with Bagels & Lox with homemade Veggie Cream Cheese for my blog book tour review. Recipe/review link👇🏻
