#OldCoolBooks #bibliosmia
My aunt passed away in January & bibliosmia-the love of the smell of books-makes me think of her house. We moved to Oregon the summer I was 12 & since school hadn't started & I knew no one, I did a LOT of reading. We'd go over to dinner every few weeks & I'd wallow in the musty smell of her rooms full of books. She'd let me fill a bag with Harlequin romances, then exchange for new ones the next time.
RIP, Aunt Dot.💜

LeahBergen Oh, that‘s a lovely memory. I have fond memories of an aunt of mine who let me read all of her historical romances when I was really young. ❤️❤️ 6y

robinb I have an aunt who I call my “other mother”. In some ways I‘m more like her than my mom, including her love of books which my mom doesn‘t have. So sorry for the loss of your special aunt. (edited) 6y
Linsy Awww, how sweet! She was your book dealer. I‘m endeavoring to be that for my nephews. She‘s my role model! 👏👏👏 (edited) 6y
fleeting Awww "she'd let me fill a bag then exchange new ones later." I think most readers have had a relative/friend like this. A book godmother. In return, I do the same to others! What a fantastic mini story this is, Deb. :') 6y
