I‘ve never seen any of the James Bond movies so I didn‘t have much background to go on. This was an okay book. The plot was pretty good, I just couldn‘t stand the sexism in the book or the sexual relationship trope. I would‘ve been more interested in the story from 16‘s POV, she was the lead female character. Listening on audio helped.

There are two good things about this book, saving it from a pan. The first good thing is the opening chapter, which is twisty and surprising. The second good thing is the Sixtine character, who holds the upper hand over Bond at all times. I'd read her book series; someone write that.

The rest of the novel is ridiculous. The plot is eye rolling. There are two villains (why?), one of which is reduced to a fat joke. Disappointing.

Kickstarting my day at the Rendezvous Cafe. I‘ve wanted to read Anthony Horowitz for awhile (specifically the ‘Magpie Murders‘, or ‘the Word Is Murder‘, among others) and this is my first foray, so hard to say whether it‘s much different than his usual stuff. A really fun little novel. It‘s supposed to be James Bond‘s first case upon getting his 007 license. It really does feel like a first case, rather than an epic, fate of the world type story that come later.

Just me and the kitties reading on a quiet Christmas morning waiting for everyone else to wake up. Loved this book! I really hope he creates more Bond adventures because this one had everything I hoped for in a James Bond novel. A great spy adventure.

Ooo look what I've got today for fathers day😁. My daughter knows me so well. Right got to finish current book and Trigger Mortis before I get stuck in to this one. Sometimes life just gets in the way of reading 😉

Reading the new 007 Forever and a day by Anthony Horowitz.

I enjoyed his last 007 book (the wonderfully titled Trigger Mortis) and the fact that this is a prequel to Casino Royale makes me even more interested.
