Buying a lotto ticket with her two best friends didnt change Zoes life. Only following her heart would do that . . . Sure, winning the lottery allows Zoe Ferris to quit her job as a cutthroat corporate attorney, but no amount of cash will clear her conscience about the way her firm treated the OLeary family in a wrongful death case. So she sets out to make things right, only to find gruff, grieving Aiden OLeary doesnt needor wanther apology. He does, however, need something else from her. Something Zoe is more than willing to give, if only to ease the pain in her heart, a sorrow she sees mirrored in his eyes . . . Aiden doesnt know what possesses him to ask his familys enemy to be his fake fiance. But he needs a bride if he hopes to be the winning bid on the campground he wants to purchase as part of his beloved brothers legacy. Skilled in the art of deception, the cool beauty certainly fits the bill. Only Aiden didnt expect all the humor and heart Zoe brings to their partnershipor the desire that runs deep between them. Now hes struggling with his own dark truththat hes falling for the very woman he vowed never to forgive.

The first in this Chance of a Lifetime series was a pick, and I‘m moving right on to the second in this trilogy.

Saturday impulse purchase. Interestingly the cover in the kindle library is different to the one you get when you click to read it.

Charming and funny, a bit dark too. These characters have significant challenges but they may be exactly what the other person needs 😄 Work is crazy right now, thank goodness for an HEA!

A pick with some reservations. I think my hopes were too high from reading rave reviews. I really liked the story and thought it was well-paced. I liked the characters in theory but felt a bit disconnected from them. It seemed I was told more about them through others‘ observations than I learned when reading in their perspective. Still, I‘ll be keeping my eye out for more from Kate Clayborn.

samnreader The weakest of this amazing series...I far prefer the first and third. 6y
samnreader (and I would say that her books tend toward that introspective style in general, which I love as long as there's enough to support it around it) 6y
MarriedtoMrT @samnreader The premise of this one spoke to me more than the other two but it‘s good to know the others are stronger! I do think she has a lot of potential as a writer so I think I just have to find the “right” book of hers for me. 6y
samnreader Well, should you decide to read them, I hope you enjoy! 6y

This book surprised me in how good it ended up being. I‘m starts fairly slow and the journey our two main characters go on is slow paced. The pacing made me switch to other books several times. I set the task to finish it this weekend and did not regret the time reading. The pacing makes sense as you continue their unlikely journey to love. Definitely recommend if you enjoy the not so typical #romantsy

robinb I loved this entire series and was also surprised by how wonderful it was...so glad I discovered this author! Have you read the other two? Highly recommend! 👍👍😊 6y
Nessavamusic @robinb I have read the first one, I liked it, I think this one was even better. I have book 3 on my tbr and sitting in my kindle🤓😁 6y
robinb @Nessavamusic I agree, I think this one was even better than the first. The third is great too. What I especially liked is that they were all so different, and each pair had different issues to work through, separately and together. Enjoy the last one! 😊 6y

This book has slightly slow pacing, but now about half way through our main characters are enjoying some amusing shenanigans. #romantsy
