I enjoyed it (not just 'cause I'm a Wessex girl living in Gloucester!) but it has serious problems. Firstly, it's page 140 before Aethelflaed comes to the fore: much of the book is actually about her male relatives. Secondly, it relies heavily upon conjecture. Thirdly (my personal bugbear), it *badly* needs a proofreader. It reads as if composed on speech-to-text software and not checked subsequently. Not very professional of you, Amberley books!
