The Innocent Killer
The Innocent Killer | Michael Griesbach

THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER The story of one of America's most notorious wrongful convictions, that of Steven Avery, a Wisconsin man who spent eighteen years in prison for a crime he did not commit and now the subject of the hit series Making a Murderer. But two years after he was exonerated of that crime and poised to reap millions in his wrongful conviction lawsuit, Steven Avery was arrested for the exceptionally brutal murder of Teresa Halbach, a freelance photographer who had gone missing several days earlier. The “Innocent Man” had turned into a cold blooded killer. Or had he? This is narrative non-fiction at its finest and the perfect companion read for fans of Making a Murderer.

Another I listened to yesterday (I started deep cleaning the house 😂). I enjoyed Making A Murderer but I think this book went a little more into Avery's story. What I didn't like is the author has a very prominent decision on his guilt and I would have preferred a non-biased opinion on such a publicized case

If like me you were obsessed with watching Netflix's The making of a murderer, you will find this book to be an even more insightful and interesting look at the case against Avery. The book also goes more in depth regarding the first rape that Avery was wrongly incarcerated for. It gives further insights into the person Steven is, his character and what he may or may not be capable of by people who have actually known him. #tea2 bookmark

Shocking. Senseless. Tragic.

ClairesReads Such a shocking but interesting read! I really felt like this added to my understanding of the cases after watching the Making a Murderer series 8y
catatonic1242 @ClairesReads I actually haven't seen Making a Murderer - I hadn't even heard of it until after I read this, but now it's definitely on my "to watch" list. 8y

When you're having withdrawals from 'Making a Murderer' this is an ideal way to fill the void in your life. Much more detail about the initial wrongful conviction, than the murder which the show dissects, makes this an interesting companion read.

MyBookLife Have you seen The jinx? 9y
ClairesReads @MyBookLife yes, I really enjoyed that series too! 9y
