Book 3📚
I was caught a little off guard with how heavily Christian this book is and how it is a large part of the process. Not a bad thing at all, just wasn‘t what I was looking for.
I more or less already knew the information being presented but the author does a good way of easing you into the information and how you can make changes.

Hey #shortstoryswap -ers!

If you haven‘t already sent your package, please keep in mind the spending limit is $20 MAX. Think of it as a mini swap. Just a book or two!

I don‘t want to squash anyone‘s generous impulses but keep in mind, if you overspend, your recipient may worry their box was inadequate.

But if you receive an overly generous box, just accept it graciously! It‘s not a reflection on you if the sender chose to send more.

CSeydel And remember to tag me when you send or receive your books, so I can update my list. 6y

Ddzmini Well said I bought used books to keep the spending down 😉 and I tagged you when I sent it out 😉 6y
CSeydel @monalyisha @Ddzmini Thanks guys 😊 I really struggle with how to keep the obligation low without squelching people who get enthusiastic, and want to send a little more without expectation of getting more. Just send what you can, and receive your box graciously. 😊 6y
Ddzmini With me it‘s more about giving than receiving 😋 so whatever I get I‘m always happy with 😋 (edited) 6y

I considered buying this title from the Audible sale, because I'm interested in embracing a more frugal lifestyle. Thankfully, I read a few Goodreads reviews first and discovered it's written from a strongly Christian point of view, and frequently incorporates Bible verses. Funny, since the author's obviously salient religious views aren't mentioned anywhere in the book summary- on Goodreads, Audible or Litsy. 👇

2BR02B I honestly don't understand why authors/publishers use this approach. Do they think potential readers put off by seeing "God" or "Jesus" on a book's cover will be any less so when they find the content littered with Bible verses? 7y
2BR02B Furthermore, I would think there's a sizable demographic of Christians today interested in minimalism, for whom knowledge that the author's approach is faith-based would be a huge positive, and make them much more likely to buy. 7y
2BR02B I'm just not one of those people. Oh well. Thanks for reading. End rant. 7y

Swe_Eva That's just weird. If you are looking for something Christian, you won't go for it and if you don't want solmething Christian, you'll dislike it because of it. Lose-lose situation. I thought marketing people should be savvier. 7y
Notafraidofwords This has happened to me a couple of times. I think I‘m buying a self help book and instead it‘s All versus about how god can help you. And I‘m all for that if that‘s what I‘m looking for. I don‘t like feeling tricked into something. 7y
dariazeoli I started listening to her other book today, not realizing it‘s similarly set up. I won‘t DNF just yet, but I agree the marketing misses the mark in these cases! 7y
