A brand-new ongoing series from the acclaimed bestselling creative team of Old Man Logan and Green Arrow! The lives of a reclusive young man obsessed with a conspiracy in the city's trash, and a washed-up Catholic priest arriving in a small town full of dark secrets, become intertwined around the mysterious legend of The Black Barn, an otherworldly building that is alleged to have appeared in both the city and the small town, throughout history, bringing death and madness in its wake. Rural mystery and urban horror collide in this character-driven meditation on obsession, mental illness, and faith.

I picked up this series because a co-worker at the library recommended it and BOY HOWDY IS HE EVER ON MY LIST NOW. I'm enjoying it, my husband is not enjoying me sleeping with the lights on. 😬

This is one of those horror series that's fine in the daylight and downright nightmare inducing at night. That said, I am almost half way through and very interested in seeing where it goes.

I found a comic book store that I didn‘t know existed not too far from my house. I have to go back when I have more $$. I grabbed this one as it been on my TBR for a while. Looking forward to it.

Eyelit I just got this recently, too. Really looking forward to it! 5y
DeeLew @Eyelit The guy at the comic book store told me it was heavy reading for a graphic novel. That sold me even more. 🖤 5y

Pickpick

A haunted priest... being haunted by a priest...
An obsessed man with a vision picking up trash all over town while on release from the mental hospital...
A backwater town with secrets & dead bodies...
Yes to all of it 🙌🏻

Super late on this. I have been in a reading slump all week but I got caught up tonight 👌
👇individual reviews in the comments👇

nosferatoos 👍Assassinistas 3: Continues to be a delight. I really wanted to like all the Black Crown stuff because that line is SUPER me in terms of aesthetics. But as it stands, this is the only one I enjoy. Chris Sebela has a book coming out with them so I‘ll definitely give that a shot but I wasn‘t impressed by Kid Lobotomy or Punks Not Dead. 7y
nosferatoos 👋Avengers 683: The linger this goes on the less interesting it becomes. There was an interesting twist in this one and for the first time in three weeks it didn‘t end with the last page “hinting” at [spoiler, even tho its not] the hulk coming back. I hope it ends strong. 7y
nosferatoos 🙌Black Bolt 11: I AM NOT READY FOR THIS TO END. Wow. This book has been incredible. Saladin Ahmed has made me care about so many characters I had not previously cared about so I am living for this book. And Wards art is, as always, flawless. 7y

nosferatoos 👍Captain America 699: I‘ve seen a lot of people complaining about this story and I guess I kinda get why. There‘s not a ton going on here but that feels like the point. It‘s a pallet cleanser. Let‘s have Steve fight some fascists in the future to get the taste of Hydra!Cap our of our collective mouths. It‘s not amazing but it doesn‘t need to be. Im okay with that. 7y
nosferatoos 👋Doctor Strange Damnation 2: I think I am in the minority of people who aren‘t digging this. It‘s fine. But it‘s not much more than that. And it‘s crossing over with Ben Reilly which is such a low sales red flag that if Ben Reilly weren‘t a white guy it would have gotten cancelled 6 issues ago. 7y
nosferatoos 🙌 Exit Stage Left 3: My only criticism of this comic is actually a pretty big one. They spend a lot of time in Stonewall but there are no transwomen or drag queens and that is almost as bad as making a movie where a white cis kid throws the first brick. Other than that I am really loving this. 7y
nosferatoos 👍Extremith 12: This was such a beautiful heavy issue and a really nice/devastating end to the series. Definitely pick up the two trades if you haven‘t been keeping up with this. It‘s well worth it. 7y
nosferatoos 👍Gideon Falls 1: I wasn‘t sure what to expect with this comic. I don‘t always love Sorrentino‘s art. His lines always look like he‘s drawing in MS Paint, which is impressive and not great at the same time. But he is on his A game here. The panned layouts, the perspectives, every thing about this is beautiful. I will read anything Lemire puts out so I am glad this was great. 7y
nosferatoos 👋Infinity Countdown 1: I don‘t like Aaron Kuder‘s art and I can put my finger on why. There is something just not right about it. That being said, this seems interesting so far. Probably not going to get all the mini series though. (Seriously, stop trying to make darkhawk happen) 7y
nosferatoos 👍Prisim Stalker 1: I was hesitant to give this a shot. The last pretty neon book I picked up from image was awful (dark fang—skip it). But this was, at the very least interesting. It was super weird. 7y
nosferatoos 🙌Shade the Changing Woman 1: ITS BACK! This is my favorite young animal book and I love it so much. I love that they brought back her supporting cast and are working to flesh them out more. 7y

#NewComicsDay put a real dent in my wallet this week, but worth it for a brand new Image series from both Kirkman AND The Unstoppable J̶u̶g̶g̶e̶r̶n̶a̶u̶t̶ Jeff Lemire
