A bonus read for #SummerEndReadathon while waiting for my final hold to come in! In this installment, the now young School Master tries to convince Sophie to be his evil queen, and Agatha and Tedros have to persuade her to leave his spell. The binary between New and Old is explored; and I'm increasingly convinced that the series will end by exploding the binary altogether.

I am so-so on this book. The first half was annoying. So much character development just thrown away from the first two books. We were back to stale arguments and no one communicating.

Part 2 was better and part 3 was great!

So I am glad I stuck it out, but I just wanted more thought to the first half.

This series is so fun! This one features an undead villain army and fairytale heroes of legend grown old. Will Sophie be able to have her happily never after? I will be continuing to read the next trilogy

Read for #believeathon

This book is entirely too long, way to many words. I love Agatha and she deserved so much more than what she got out of this story. Sophie is an evil monster that I kind of hate after this book. I was okay with the ending of the series overall but mostly it took to long to read and I hated everyone but Merlin and Agatha. I love middle grade fantasy though and those are always worth the read!

Ugh *annoyed eye twitch* I wish this series would've been a stand alone. The girls are beyond annoying so DNF at 40%. It didn't feel like there was any evaluation of the ridiculous stereotypes and tropes raised in book two and book three. I want to drop kick Tedros into another dimension and slap both Sophie and Agatha. The long...Triangle/square/Pentagon or w/e it is was just WAYYYYYYY too drawn out. Done with the series

I started this one in 2016, put it down for a while, and picked it up last night. It had a really satisfying ending even if the plot sometimes felt convoluted. Whimsical and fun as ever. Bonus: check out my book puzzle!

"Neither Hort nor Agatha had noticed there was a third person by the pond the whole time, sitting behind a tall oak. The blond prince never moved from his spot, even when the sun rose the next morning like a golden ring and cast him in precarious light. Instead, he lay against the tree and listened again and again to the echo of everything he's just heard, a single tear shining on his face." ??? Tedros has never broken my heart like this :(

Much better than the last book but it seemed to drag on quite a bit in the middle. Oh the teenage angst! Definitely a coming of age story with a twist and I enjoyed the changes to the old fairy tales. Very original. I was much happier with how things ended between Sophie and Agatha and the ending in general compared to the second book. I can't really say to much without giving anything away so I'll end here.

I read it because I wanted to know the ending, but there were times I considered giving up. A few interesting plot twists but not my favorite.
