A moving and tender story of forgiveness. The way Younts writes from the three perspectives of grief, particularly Deedee‘s, was impactful and relatable. Five stars.

Don‘t be fooled by a pretty cover...I was initially drawn to this story of a grieving mother, a remorseful daughter and a troubled Amish wife. Set in the mid 1950s, tackling issues of segregation, race, religion, alcohol dependency and trauma this book was ripe with secrets and intrigue. But at the half way point, the storyline began to feel heavy handed and then a whole bunch of come to Jesus moments started to appear. Lost me...2.5 🌟🌟/5
Received this ARC and now find myself fully immersed in 1956, Amish Pennsylvania. #TheSolaceOfWater #NetGalley #SundayReads #CoverLove
