Just seen this is 99p on Kindle so that'll be one of my next reads ($1.24 on Amazon US for those interested)

I wish I could make this book compulsory reading for everyone in Britain - it‘s so well written, so important, so honest and thoughtful. The parts about Oxford really struck me as I was a student there too and still live there. Can‘t believe I didn‘t read this one sooner

On a train through Canada (hence the massive font size to fend off travel sickness) reading one of the most insightful books I‘ve ever read about what it means to be British. Really recommend to any British/European people interested in the history of racism and belonging here as opposed to the US! SO well written and such an important book

LectricSheep Your description reminds me of Why I‘m No Longer Talking To White People About Race! Have you read it? 7y
Emilymdxn @LectricSheep yeah I loved that book! I listened to it as an audiobook tho and I think it might have worked better as a print edition so I don‘t remember it as well as I‘d like to 7y
