Not sure if it's the style of dialogue, the lack of understanding the plot, or the alcohol I drank while reading but I can't follow this book. Halfway through and I have no idea what's going on and I can't keep track of the characters. Giving up and moving on.
While in the library last week I decided to continue my practice of checking out a book working my way backwards alphabetically through the shelves. This shelf was mostly full of books by Stuart Woods (read one of his on the last shelf, can't read anymore) and Sherryl Woods. Those didn't appeal to me either. Found 2 books by Daniel Woodrell and selected this one. Loved Winter's Bone. Plus, it will fit some reading challenge categories.
Don't go into the library...Just drop your books off in the drive through...DON'T go into the library...DON'T GO INTO THE LIBRARY!!!
Goes into library. But only checks out one new book, so I will consider it a success.
Ang Lee turned this "subversive western" into the movie, Ride With the Devil (but you know the drill ... "the book was better"). Daniel Woodrell is the author of Winter's Bone, which was also #madeintoamovie. #SomethingforSept
