I'd forgotten how cute these stories can be. It's such a formula, but sometimes that's exactly what I'm looking for. On to book 2 of the Smythe-Smiths. #55-2023

I absolutely loved this book!
After reading the Bridgerton and Bridgerton prequels one after the other last year I wanted a break before I read another Julia Quinn book & I‘m so glad I went back to them & read this book.
I really liked both the lead characters, & loved their love story. I was really shocked & a little queasy in the middle when Marcus became very ill, not at all what I expected from a love story!
Can‘t wait to read the next one!
This is a 99p deal on kindle this month so couldn‘t resist. I absorbed it and read it in two days. Should I have stopped reading and gone to bed earlier? Definitely. Did I stay up so I could read more? Of course. 😂
It‘s a Julia Quinn book so you know what you‘re getting into! And I love it all.
After binging the Bridgertons on Netflix, I wanted to read the books. But there‘s a long wait at my library. So I decided to check out the author‘s other books.
This one is set about 10 years after the series. Gregory Bridgerton, who makes a cameo appearance, is at Cambridge. This book is a light-hearted, typical romance. It even made me chuckle a few times. 3 stars because while entertaining, it felt a bit rushed especially the ending.
#quotsyjune19 @TK-421 #music “The Smythe-Smith musicale. Thankfully, it only came around just once per year, because Hyacinth was quite certain it would take a full twelve months for her ears to recover.” In the fabulous world of Julia Quinn‘s Regency England, one family is infamous for being less than musically inclined.
This was one giant meet-cute and it was absolutely adorable. It also had some of my favorite character types (shy man, goofy girl) and tropes (nursing back to health, life long friends turned romantic) If you are a romance fan, especially of cute and funny ones, this is a definite recommendation.
Was so glad I picked this up, haven't read #JuliaQuinn in ages and it was so good want to pick up the rest of the books
I haven't read Julia Quinn in ages so looking forward to diving back in to some of her books 📚
I really liked this book 😄 It was sweet, funny and good introduction to the series 📖 #historicalromance #Julybooks
It's been a crazy week + I have a cold 😫 so going back to my historical romances for comfort reading ❤📖 #historicalromance #Julybooks
This book was my first experience with Julia Quinn and I must say that I very happy to have the opportunity to read something so sweet and funny! This isn't the storical romance that we are used to read, this book was an easy and super fast reading!
Last day visiting family, and before I head back my mom and I had to go to a bookstore. Here's my #bookhaul. Every time I visit a new bookstore, I look for a copy of Persuasion that I don't have yet. Found one.
This is a solid three star read for me (which is not a bad rating for me). This book starts the Smythe-Smith series and was a fun, funny romance. I liked the hero and heroine, and particularly loved all of the scenes and reactions to the infamous Smythe-Smith quartet concerts (which are a running joke in Quinn's Bridgerton series). My only complaint is some repetition; the storyline felt like a mash-up of Benedict's and Francesca's books.
just a couple of my nook books with #headlesscovers. #photoadaynov16 @RealLifeReading
