Not the tagged book. 😔 Lisa Scottoline sends out a newsletter to inform her fans of what work she has coming out. In the recent newsletter I received, she promoted her short story, Pigeon Tony‘s Last Stand. Pigeon Tony defends a boy in his neighborhood who is pressured into joining the local gang of drug dealers. It‘s heartwarming and empowering for those who can make a difference in their communities.

A nice thing about these books, besides the fact they are light, is that they are quick listens. I finished I‘ve Got Sand in All the Wrong Places yesterday and started this one today. I also like that the authors read them. This makes four days in a row of walking for me. 😊 #audiowalk

I‘m giving this a pick but just barely. Some of the stories were super eyeroll worthy, and it got old how basically every chapter/essay ended with some sort of pun. But I loved the stories of their pets, the drugstore line essay was spot on, and I liked the last few essays (which I guess were actually from their newspaper column) that were a little more personal and touching. I probably won‘t read more of their books though.

I‘m about half way through this on audio. I‘ve never read any of their other books.. A coworker told me this was funny. Some of the chapters are funny.. and I especially like hearing about the pets... but some are 🙄🙄🙄... rich white lady problems anyone? It‘s short and light enough that I‘ll finish, but I don‘t think I‘ll read any more of their books.

RaimeyGallant lol. Probably not for me, then. 6y

I absolutely love listening to the audio books of Lisa Scottoline and her daughter Francesca Serritella and the bonus is that the books are actually read by this dynamic and laugh-out-loud funny mother-daughter duo! The best break in my day is spent with these two ladies 😁 I only wish they put put out more than one book a year! So good, so funny, so true!!!

MelissaSue81 I‘m on the waiting list for this on audiobook! Sounds so fun! 6y

I‘ve read many of Lisa Scottoline‘s mysteries and loved them. This is the first I‘ve read of her story collections written by Lisa and her daughter Francesca. The stories are funny and sometimes a little sad. They are always authentic and that‘s my favorite part. Definitely going to find the audio of these - hearing these stories read by the author sounds fabulous!
