pickI‘m glad I saved this one for the end, as it was better than Lady of the Lake. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ here simply for the simplicity of the story. The Witcher has lost his swords, and for someone that relies on them for work, he desperately needs them back. Enter shady side characters, menacing creatures, and Dandelion at his best, this book was thoroughly enjoyable.
Let‘s finish up my second last series for the year! Sad to be reading the last Witcher novel!
pickFinally back with the Witcher! I do have a soft spot for this special world. And for Geralt, Dandelion and Geralts horses. Just sometimes I wonder if it's Geralt or Sapkowski who have a superficial relationship with women, or if it's just part of this perfectly crafted world. I'm not sure yet about this part. Everything else is pure reading joy. Happily, I got two other Witcher books waiting to be read.

pickI love this world and these characters, so of course I loved this story. Still, it felt very tacked on, and it was hard to get into it given the severe difference in stakes. A good story, but not one of my favorite Witcher books.
pickThat was a fun read. Nice that it was one story throughout as a prequel unlike The Last Wish and Sword of Destiny which are a collection of short stories. I did think the chapters about the aguara (she-fox) was too much of a tangent from the main plot, but interesting to read about another creature. The villain was pretty creepy and ominous in this one.

And moving on to book 3 of “The Witcher” series and loving it! Book Geralt is so much more fun than series Geralt (although Henry Cavill is and always will be The Witcher ❤️❤️❤️) and book Jaskier (Dandelion 😂 which I can‘t stop laughing about) is far more intelligent and the fairytale references...
so-soLook, I'm not gonna lie, they had us in the first half. XD No but in all seriousness, this one was hard for me to get into. I'm not one for political intrigue, and that's a lot of the first half, kind of. Actually, this whole book ran a lot like a video game-- want thing A, get interrupted to solve B, have to make a deal for B which leads to fight C... Like, all Geralt wanted was his swords back. That's it, that's the plot. XD
panSapkowski wrote this about 14 years after he‘d finished the Witcher series. It‘s a prequel but inconsistent with the timeline of the series (Geralt knows characters that he shouldn‘t have met yet). Fans probably loved it for giving them all the best parts of the Witcher series: super bad bad guys, the sexy sorceress, mutants, monsters, fights. pickThe first book of “The Witcher” series that I read, and honestly, it‘s darn good. I now understand why it was well translated as a game, too.
Anyways, I had to ask my boyfriend for some explanations about some characters, but it was overall easy to understand and grasp 👍🏻
pickFinished a week ago. Began while still despondent over the last book, which was the formal end of the Witcher‘s story. Couldn‘t fathom the point of reading it, to be honest. But by the end of the book, I realized why he wrote it and that it made for a beautiful send-off to the series. Denouement and catharsis bestowed through participation in some of the Prime functions of Myth. I grudgingly loved it. This series MUST be read in release order.
I miss Gerald company from lady of the lake, ciri and yennefers relationship to geralt also.
Seven chapters in, and I find the book to be AMAZING!!!! I did read something that saddened me though. I've ALWAYS been a fan of Geralt and Yennefer's relationship. I read that they broke up. My heart is sad now!

I have decided to read the Witcher series as well as play The Witcher III: Wild Hunt!
These games are pretty fun. I didn't realize they were books first, so that's cool & gives hope that I could write something that someone wants to turn into a video game!
