First in the Chef-To-Go mystery series. The setting is promising but there‘re quibbles I couldn‘t get past me..repetitive remarks by the characters (the love interest of the mc kept referring her to Little Miss Cupcake & her heart shaped ass); flimsy plot; unsatisfying romance; no recipes included, considering the mc is a chef/caterer & there were frequent descriptions of the food she prepared. To each his own, not for me, though.

I love a cozy on audio! I like Dani‘s business idea and her food sounds lovely! 9/15 #Jumpstart2020
Finished this one off late last night. It was far from great, but I still enjoyed it. 💚 2 points for theme, 1 for the post! #TeamSlaughter
Read a chapter in the tagged book, one in The Grapes of Wrath, and am now fixin‘ to go to sleep to Death of a Hussy.
I have a bunch of things going on today, so I'm grateful for a quiet hour to fit in my #24in48 and #cozyinthesun reading, and I'm especially grateful for this insane chicken biryani. @24in48
@wanderinglynn I'm doing pretty well with my calorie and activity goals, but wow, I'm still struggling so much with my sleep goals! Which is precisely why I made them a goal. Someday I will get enough sleep! 8/12 books read. #bfcr2 #bookfitnesschallenge
This is different from a traditional cozy - language and at times subject matter made this what I call meatier. But, same elements - amateur sleuth, and this one featured lots and lots of food. I loved the narration and have immediately jumped into book two! #cozyinthesun
I‘m kicking off #CozyInTheSun with an audiobook for my drive home. This is the first in the Chef To Go mystery series.
I like when the main character Miss Marples themselves into the middle of murder mysteries. (AKA the Rosemary & Thyme Effect)
But, this was like eating a lot of cotton candy all at once. None of the storylines (suspect for murder, dick exboyfriend, or dirty cop) felt actually threatening.
The tone would switch to a more romance novel style. I don't mind that, if I was expecting it. But it seemed mostly limited to Spencer's chapters. 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑
