Never known such sinister school kids as the ones in this book.

⭐⭐⭐ Simply put - not enough dead teenagers for the "One Deadly Weekend" tagline. The writing was good but I didn't really connect to the characters and all the shady stuff was all rather vanilla. Too much technical talk of the huntin', shootin', & fishin'. I honestly think this would be better from the POV of one of the Medievals. Happy Easter! I literally did nothing special to celebrate. My man and I had a pretty lazy day, but I did my DDPYoga workout and we took this little guy on a long midday walk. I called my parents & they're well. I had a successful Day 1 of the #EasterExtravaganza readathon. I banged out 1 chapter of Little Women plus 50 pages of the tagged book with my reading buddy on my lap. Maybe I should think about dinner now...

Here are my goals for the #EasterExtravaganza Readathon that starts tomorrow.

Taking a quick break from cooking to enjoy some warm coffee and update my bullet journal. I just completed book 60, and I‘m jumping straight into the next tagged audiobook. Not sure how I‘ll feel about this one. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This YA mystery-thriller isn‘t anything mind-blowing, but considering I am not usually a fan of spoiled-rich-kids-behaving-badly stories, I enjoyed it more than I expected.

Sadly underwhelmed by this; I spent at least five hours sitting around on a delayed flight yesterday and a couple of hours in the airport before that and still had a few chapters left today, which is not what you'd expect for a supposedly fast paced YA thriller. Neither the style nor the plot structure (which I felt had a few holes) came together for me. A few good moments but overall pretty meh.

Flying back to Dallas today, wondering what state my car and house are in after getting hammered with storms earlier. Our flight half boarded then got delayed since DFW was closed, boarded an hour later and then sat on the runway for another 40 minutes, and now we've landed and have been sitting on the runway for another 30 min at least waiting for a gate. At least I don't have a connection like my neighbors... 😤

A cult that is a school or a school that is a cult? Regardless, YA readers seeking an intro to thrillers may find what they are seeking in S.T.A.G.S. Simply put, it is a cross between the short story "The Most Dangerous Game" and the "Mean Girls" movie franchise. However, readers that aren't new to the thriller genre may find it lacking with an easy plot/conflict/resolution.

Yesterday‘s #BookMail. I have almost no idea what it‘s about, but I‘ve seen it compared to The Secret History and Pretty Little Liars. I‘m intrigued.

I loved this book about a private school, class struggle, blood sports, and maybe a cult? I read it as a book with murder for #5book5bingo

"Every year, six Medievals leave and a new pack is forged..."

This book centers around traditions, and ever-changing world, and (obviously) murder. There are a few make-you-think moments, but too many details are given in advance and that robbed me of the thrill. It is, however, a quick read and perfect for anyone that loves secret society/boarding school themes.

I‘ve caught up on some reviews (this was my 5th book of the year), and this one‘s not actually been released yet, although it‘s been out in the UK since 8/17. This is a YA thriller with a boarding school (a setting I can‘t resist) as the backdrop. The elites at this school rule the roost and they invite new student Greer to an exclusive hunting weekend at a stately home.
