Bookish Boyfriends
Bookish Boyfriends | Tiffany Schmidt
The first of two books in an intended paperback original series about a girl whose classic literary crushes manifest in real life. Merrilee Campbell, 16, thinks boys are better in books, chivalry is dead, and there'd be nothing more romantic than having just one guy woo her like the heroes in classic stories. She's about to get the chance to test these daydreams when she, her best friend, Eliza, and her younger sister, Rory, transfer into Reginald R. Hero High, where all their fantasies come true--often with surprising consequences.

I liked that there was a definite character arc with the protagonist Merrilee based on how she thinks about love, books, and family. I also took a liking to the lesbian and bisexual relationship between a couple of the minor characters. I think it‘s good to introduce LGBTQ+ relationshps in YA books.

Since I live in Egypt and there‘s no way to get my favourite newspaper and white Glühwein, my boyfriend bought me some. Best boyfriend ever. ?

Mehso-so

I think there are a few bookish boyfriend books? This is a review for A Date With Darcy. I saw the author speak a few months ago and she was charming, so when I saw the book available at the library I thought I would give it a try. it was what she said, part Romeo and Juliet and part P&P. But I found that it was trying to cram in too many references and parallels, so it ended up a little convoluted.

So excited for this one. It's a YA retelling of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice.

Book 3 of 2018: Bookish Boyfriends by Tiffany Schmidt
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Three Thoughts 1) the smiles I smiled while reading this book could not be contained! Super cute story with some lol lines 2) loved how the classics were woven into the modern day and the homage this was to book lovers everywhere 3) super excited for the companion sequel - totally want more of these characters especially Eliza as I totally identify with her in so many ways 😍😍😍

Leaves crunched under my sneakers. Fall was just getting started, so these were the quitters—the leaves that had let go early and changed directly from green to brown without pausing on the gorgeous colors in between.
