#BeenonyourTBRtooLong. While this hasn‘t been there the longest it‘s the one I always think of. For some reason I feel guilty for not having read it yet. Has anyone read it?

Was a little surprised when this came in the mail—on the website, I didn‘t notice this is a 581-page hardback! It‘s a coming-of-age novel set in the ‘50s and ‘60s, so that appeals to me. On the TBR pile it goes, temporarily. 😊
I finished, but I forced myself through, and admittedly I skimmed good chunks of it. I do not understand the appeal. I guess the documentary it inspired is better, but I can‘t find that anywhere. Do not read unless you‘re into torturing yourself slowly. And in italics.
Oh how I'd love to hear the perspective of someone who loves or even appreciates this one. I forced myself through and don't see why I should have.
Well this quote, in the last section of this long book, rather sums up the reading experience of the entire thing. Not reviewing until I watch a related documentary. #theunreadshelfproject2018
A poem inside a story inside a book inside a novel. Bookception!
In the tumult of the last two weeks I‘ve completely abandoned my #bookclub read. Sorry, book club! I‘m trying to catch up! (If only something would happen in the story. Anything. Reading this is like pulling teeth, but in italics.)
This book has a reputation so the same group I read Infinite Jest with is tackling this book in January and February. Have you read it? Thoughts?
