A special, surprising thing happened yesterday as I drove from Denver (where I'd been on vacation) to central Kansas (to visit one of my best friends). I unexpectedly passed Nicodemus, Kansas, so I U-turned to visit. Then I remembered I bring too many books on road trips, and I had this in my trunk. Cue me rereading the final scene where it took place and the unexpected highlight of my trip.

It may be 55 degrees, but #HawthorneBlake wanted to "do some ninja training outside," to which I said, "of course!" And "Can I read while I watch you train?"
