More about my #weekendbookhaul: There's a story behind this book. I don't know if it's truth or fiction, but either way, it's intriguing. I picked it up thinking my brother might be interested in it (he's a rapper; a poet in his own right) but decided I could use it myself. I saw the stamp on the cover & thought, could that be THE Gary Hyland? Not likely. At home, I found a Coteau bookmark inside when I was flipping through the pages. see👇

TK-421 Then it hit me: Hyland was one of the founders of Coteau Books! And he was from MJ. Holy crap 😳 Did I just buy a rhyming dictionary that used to belong to one of SK's most renowned poets?!

I'm only familiar with a few of his poems & they were free verse. But who knows? If this book wasn't Hyland's, someone has an odd sense of humour. If it did belong to him? OMG! Book nerd win! At any rate, it's a cool conversation piece & useful too!

writerlibrarian Definite and awesome book nerd find. 😀 7y
CarolynM Love this sort of association. I have a couple of books that were owned by writers I admire and it gives me a lot of pleasure. Glad you're enjoying your find. 7y
