This book would be a great story to read with younger grades. As students read and engage with the story it would draw in attention to ask what they think is going to happen next. The story provides great illustrations so children can predict the page before they are finished reading.

This book was written in 2001. This book is short, sweet and will make you cry. As the story progresses; the family wants to take the dog into their family and eventually rescues the dog from the warden. They then get to keep Willie where he lives the best life with his owner. The illustrations in the story tells the a story in a different point of view, from Willie. The book is a thriller that would excite students to read the next page.

The girl took off her hair ribbon. “Here's his leash“, she said. “His name is Willy, and he belongs to us.“ I loved this quote because it just showed that the children would have done anything to help this dog. This was a great moment in the book.

The Stray Dog by Marc Simont was published in 2003 and received a Caldecott Honor. I think this book had great illustrations that fit the book perfectly. It was a very cute and child centered book that I think many children would be able to relate to, especially if they have a dog. In my opinion this was a great book to receive the Caldecott honor.

This book could allow for discussions in the classroom about empathy and compassion. This is because the story highlights the importance of understanding and caring for others, both humans and animals. This could a good opportunity to discuss about the stray dogs point of view and the emotions he might be feeling as well as the kindness of the family who adopts him.

This book is a picture book that was published in 1958 and it won the Caldecott medal as well. This story is about a stray dog who finds a new home with a loving family. The book captures themes of friendship and belonging. This book also falls under the genre of classic children's literature.

I rate The Stray Dog by Marc Simont a 10/10. The illustrations had so much personality. The story was a touching tale of belonging. It was short and sweet!

I thought this book showed a nice story about a family who came to rescue a stray dog. It was heartwarming and the pictures also told a story of their own.

This was a very cute book about a family saving a dog. I enjoyed the happy ending of the dog finally finding a home

This book had an underlining theme of the importance of helping the underdogs, and also the importance of helping people less fortunate in general. It also shows how someone's life can be changed with a home and love.

This quote is important to me because it explains how the dog doesn't need to have a collar or be blood related to be a part of their family.

This book is a really good book for children and students of all ages. It has a great message and it teaches children about having courage and being brave. The kids stood up for the dog and said that it doesn't need a collar to be considered part of the family.

I think this story would be a good story to share to children to teach a lesson about perspective, the family views the dog as their own and the warden perceives the dog as a stray who doesn't belong to anyone, this story shows that everyone has a place they belong and that others perspective of you or someone is not definitive of who they are.

This book won the Caldecott in 2002, it is a story about a family who meets a stray dog while on a picnic, they play with the dog for a day and believe it must belong to someone, when they leave the dog they cannot stop thinking about him, when they come back they see a warden trying to chase after the dog, the family announces that the dog is theres and he becomes a part of their family

This story is a very fun read, especially for dog lovers. I will be sure to include this book in my future classroom. The illustrations add to the sweet and fun nature of the book.
