Caldecott Winner of 1958 is Fly High, Fly Low by Don Freeman, it is a fantasy picture book I will use for shared reading. This is a story about two birds who are new parents to some baby birds, but what happens when their home gets destroyed?
ChristinB I will utilize UDL 3.2 highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas, and relationships. I will also use teach think, pair and share for ESOL students. https://beyondthebookends.wordpress.com/2013/06/20/fly-high-fly-low-don-freeman/ this website has ideas on how to use this book in the classroom, I love the idea of the students creating the homes of the birds in the story. #ucflae3414f17 7y
DrSpalding His stories have other themes related to other content areas. This one could be part of a science unit. 7y
