This book is a great adaptation of TL. Heather Alexander has put a new spin on traditional Greek mythology so that it is age appropriate and easy for kids to follow along and comprehend. The book is broken up into an introduction to Greek mythology and individual short stories about the gods and goddesses. This book could be used for DR where students can act out the short stories. #ucflae3414f17

This activity can even be used as a planning exercise for students before they are required to script and preform and dramatic reenactment of the myth. (edited) 7y
cheyennewilliams UDL strategy 3.2: highlight patterns, critical figures, big ideas, and relationships. Throughout the activity, and throughout the entire book as well, teachers should make sure to emphasize the central message of each myth, how all of the characters are related, and patterns among the characters and the plots. A story map can be a great visual way to do this with students. 7y
cheyennewilliams EL strategy 7: show students how to use graphic organizers like semantic mapping and imaging. Teachers should walk students through the process of how to complete their story map, a type of graphic organizer. Teachers could also provide students with a completed example so that they understand what is expected of them and their map. These maps will help students to visually organize important information from the story. (edited) 7y
