I decided to try a different science fiction subscription box to see how it was. This one only costs $9.95 plus shipping. My next post will reveal what was in it.

1. I like books that twist or blow your mind, make you think, experience something new. This my great love of SF and Fantasy.
2. Ursula K. LeGuin. Her writing is gentle yet firm, with an unfathomable depth. Her explorations of human nature are so rewarding.
3. Splatter Horror
4. I could probably read more non-fiction.
5. There aren‘t many books that I don‘t finish and even fewer that I finished and disliked, but Gone Girl annoyed me greatly.

I am trying to read more science fiction. Can you guys tell me what is your favourite sci-fi book or/ series?

Shemac77 I've read the Dragonlance series; its more fantasy based. It was enjoyable. 8y
LectricSheep The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet is good sci-fi light! Like a cozy space soap opera. Very character driven. If you're looking for something a little more traditional sci fi, I'd recommend Ann Leckie's Ancillary Justice (it's the first in a trilogy). 8y
writerlibrarian I second Ann Leckie. If you like a more science based fiction aka math in this case you might want to try Yoon Ha Lee's Ninefox Gambit. It got a Nebula and a Hugo nomination. It's my next 📚 for my summer break in August. 8y

As we find ourselves in a society that feels like it's on the brink of collapse, the lessons of science fiction feel more relevant than ever. On a less lofty note, I have a huge backlog of science fiction novels and comics that I've been meaning to read and/or post about. Hence, #SciFriday, a weekly post about whatever sci-fi I'm reading or can recommend. I'd love for all of you to join in, too. Feel free to screenshot, share, and tag.

moranadatter Sounds fun! I'm in! 8y

Ah yeah, a new delivery from Awesome Books. A lot of old SF anthologies, some books about books/reading and some SF award winning novels. 😬😬😬📚📚📚📚🚀
