Once again I guessed one of the major plot points. I really must stop reading/watching crime themed things. I liked this book not so much for the story but for the writing. He really is a master.

What else to do at the hairdressers?!
Sticking with a Scottish writer for the next read. I've loved everything I've read by this man so am sure I will love this.
Here‘s an elegantly done new mystery by the author ofMy Bloody Project, which was shortlisted for the Man Booker prize. There is a fatal car crash on the A35 near a small town in France. The dead driver is a very proper, conservative lawyer, and absolutely nothing indicates foul play. Inspector Gorski is bothered by one question: where was the victim driving home from? And that, my friends, is the hook that unveils a hot mess. Literate fun!
An enjoyable story, but I didn‘t think it was as good as The disappearance of Adele Bedeux. A pity, because I was hoping Gorsky would develop into a character I really liked.
