The second book (and hopefully third) in the Sidekick Squad series has some aro/ace rep in case anyone is looking! 💜🖤🤍 💚🤍🖤 (Also, Google needs to make some aromantic and asexual flags. And they need to tell their auto correct that aromantic is a word.)
The second book in the Sidekick Squad series, featuring Bells Broussard, a trans boy who has the amazing ability to shapeshift into anyone else. I love that the Sidekick Squad represents a variety of racial, ethnic, and queer identities, but all of the characters‘ identities flow very naturally into who they are.🔸#julyreads2021

I adore this book! Bells is fantastic! My inner teen is swooning for him! If you haven‘t read Lee‘s Sidekick Squad series yet, you should! A very inclusive, #OwnVoices, #POC, #LGBTQA+, #YA, #PostApocalypticSociety, #Superhero series, with characters that absolutely steal your heart!

Double dose of superheroes this weekend:
1. Not Your Villain (C.B. Lee) - sequel/companion to Not Your Sidekick, featuring shapeshifter Bells as the lead. He's joined by Jess and the rest of the crew for a book that might be better than the first! (YA)
2. Geeks, Girls, and Secret Identities (Mike Jung) - Vincent Wu and his friends find themselves trying to deal with a massive robot, an out-of-whack superhero, and *gasp!* a GIRL. (MG)
pickOh man I finally, FINALLY read the Sidekick Squad books, and they are just so delightful. Plenty of action, hella inclusive, no shitty misgendering/anti-LGBTQ+ bigotry, heartwarming friendships. If you love YA you should definitely read these, and even if YA is not your thing these books might be the exception.
pickNOT YOUR VILLAIN by C.B. Lee is a superhero YA novel featuring a transgender protagonist. It's a delightful read, despite one or two flaws.
