pickThis is far from my usual type of book, but I loved every second of it! I actually listened to this one on audiobook, which I never really enjoy as much as print, but for the first time I couldn't wait until my next listen! This author has a new fan!
panThe idea this book has been built around is good, but I think it could have worked better as a short story or novella. The last 25% of the book is intense, but the rest seriously drags, with characters and plot elements that don't really add anything to the story. Also, by the time we arrive at the big reveal, the outcome is already given away due to the heavy foreshadowing (although how it's all done is still interesting in a way).
pickThis was between a pick and a so-so for me. I'm putting it as a pick because I think I would have liked it better if I had read it in bigger chunks than I did. A best selling author has one last chance to write a book but can't do it alone, so she enlists the help of another writer, who also happens to be a nemesis of hers. But this book is unlike anything she's written before. It's a true storry, a confession. 👇
pickI think the author did a great job of portraying the character‘s strengths and weaknesses, told a riveting story, and reminds readers that authors are not like the characters in their books. The squabbles between two authors is also one that is entirely plausible, but I enjoyed the way Mark and Helena worked together despite their differences. This story has no happy endings, per se, but peace is found, which is all I could have asked for.
pickBeautifully written, dynamically put together, and a truly wonderful story. Alessandra Torre writes about very heavy and hard topics with such a delicate touch, but she gives the respect to those who deserve it. I absolutely recommend this book. This is my first Alessandra Torre novel, and I can assure you that it will not be my last.
pickWhy did I wait so long to read/listen to this? This is an amazing story...stunningly emotional. A very worthwhile read/listen, with an ending that is really heartbreaking but also really fulfilling...giving each (all except one, but I'm not sure they deserved it) of the characters the closure they need.

pickI read this via Kindle Unlimited & wasn‘t expecting much but it was an absolute gem.
The MC, Helena, is difficult to like as she‘s very standoffish, so I understand some reviewers‘ ambivalence. The book walks the line between sentimentality & pathos very well. I thought it was going to be a run-of-the-mill ‘woman finds out her perfect husband is cheating on her‘ but it takes a left turn out of nowhere. Brilliant read. 5🌟

What a great book. I found the concept of this book fascinating. The MC Helena is a romance author that has been diagnosed with brain cancer, so she decides to write a book about her life using a Ghostwriter. She chooses to pick an author who is her rival. Great pick up guys. #Booklyapp
pickThis book was sooo good! A terminally ill reclusive and rude writer had a story to tell, her “confession”. She asks her nemesis to help write her final novel. This book is suspenseful and heartfelt and kept my full attention throughout the entire book! Well done!

pickHelena has 3 months to live but has one last story to tell. With her deteriorating health, Helena needs a ghostwriter. The unfolding tale is perfectly paced with a storyline of deep loss & love. You will fall in love with her selected ghostwriter. Their compassion and kindness is the perfect counterbalance to Helena's demanding and inflexible personality. You will feel EVERY emotion. It will leave you feeling raw and in awe of the author's genius.

so-soThe ending redeems a choppy narrative and a really unlikeable main character. Too much teasing the ending wore thin early; get to the details already! But I really did enjoy the resolution. I have to give it a so-so.
This was on kindle unlimited so I figured I‘d try it. So far so good.

pickThis isn't your typical romance book from Alessandra Torre. It isn't even a romance.
I didn't expect anything from this book because the synopsis didn't give much. Despite that the book unveils itself with great writing from multiple POV's.
I didn't like Helena. I thought she was cold and rude but you get the why, and she grows on you. The truth you learn is ugly and heartbreaking but as they say the truth will set you free.
