Bookish_AF I make this recipe in my Instant Pot quite a bit! I don‘t like spicy food though so this one works for me! https://www.jocooks.com/recipes/instant-pot-butter-chicken/ There‘s an Indian place by Binghamton University on the parkway I think??? I‘ve never been there though. 5y
theresidentromantic @whippoorwill815 are you in Binghamton too? 😁 @MaleficentBookDragon We have a few Indian places, but I've never been since I have no tolerance for spicy. There's one that I know is good enough that UHS gets it catered for their employees, in the vestal shopping center with five guys? 5y
Bookish_AF @theresidentromantic I am in Syracuse now, but I grew up in Endicott and my parents still live there so I‘m still in the area every so often to visit! 😊 That might be the Indian place I‘m thinking of...in the plaza with Five Guys and Tully‘s. 5y

My daughter‘s only request for her HS graduation - she wants me to make Urvasi Pitre‘s Butter Chicken. No party, no cake, just … butter chicken. I can do that. 😄

Aimeesue @LeahBergen It's very good! She has all the recipes for the spice mixtures in there, which are way better than the premade ones, IMO. I'd never used cardamom seeds before, but now they're my favorite flowery spice. I borrow my husband's coffee grinder to make garam masala. Not sure how he feels about flowery, spicy coffee, but…😄 6y

I made paneer! And this was my first IP try ever! I don‘t know what it tastes like since I‘m saving it for biryani which I will make tomorrow. The kids are intrigued and want to try. Always a good sign. :)

bernadette So I thought I would have another picture to add to my stream today, a picture of the finished paneer biryani, but we ate it all. Mine needed a touch more salt but it was easy to make and I was happy with the result. On to butter chicken! 7y

Read about this one in a New Yorker article after joining an IP group on FB. Looking forward to making paneer for paneer biryani. So far the recipes seem very accessible. I've marked about a half dozen recipes to try. I do wonder if it matters that I have an 8qt IP and the author uses a 6qt IP. Oh well, we shall see....
