Hip Pressure Cooking
Hip Pressure Cooking: Fast, Fresh, and Flavorful | Laura D.A. Pazzaglia
4 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Laura Pazzaglias Hip Pressure Cooking offers over 200 surefire recipes designed to work in the Instant Pot, electric pressure cookers, multi-cookers with pressure programs, and stove top pressure cookers, too! In fact, the recipes were tested across multiple pressure cookers - Instant Pot, Fagor, WMF and Kuhn Rikon to ensure delicious results no matter what you have in your kitchen. Thats right, the once-lowly and maligned pressure cooker is making a comeback! This relic of your grandparents' kitchen is not only improved and safer than ever before, but it saves time, creates more flavor, and conserves energy. Laura Pazzaglia wasn't thinking of all this when she tried pressure cooking for the first time, but after watching a friend make dinner in 10 minutes, Pazzaglia knew she had found the solution to her time-crunched life. In fact, she cooked so much she began offering recipes and advice on a website she created. At the time, pressure cooking recipes didn't emphasize aesthetics; while the food might be delicious, it was often unappealing in presentation. But Pazzaglia not only figured out how to make pressure cooked food appealing, she gained a large following for her recipes and techniques while doing it! A culmination of Pazzaglias experience, Hip Pressure Cooking offers everything from tasty recipes featuring fresh ingredients to special cooking techniques perfected over the years to basic tips on operating your pressure cooker where she walks you through every step of the process. The secret is outand now you too can discover the potential of this super appliance with this revolutionary guide to cooking with pressure!

IPot is a Mom‘s BFF. Cooking eggs for dying tomorrow.

🙏🏾Please get me through next week!

hwestfall I keep going back and forth about an InstaPot. The fact you can do eggs in there might push me over the edge. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! 6y
Ashley_Nicoletto We LOVE our instapot. We meal prep for the whole week in like 30 minutes with it. 6y
Bookwormjillk How do you do eggs? That‘s awesome! 6y

Tamra @hwestfall oh my, I love it! I can make unsoaked dried beans in a fraction of the time - an hour. Whole pork & beef roasts (from frozen) in a fraction of the time for shredding, potatoes, whole chickens, anything that takes a long time is a fraction! Soups & stews & pasta without boiling. There is a learning curve, but I wouldn‘t live without it now. This is a great book to start, though the index doesn‘t give frozen times, but can find online. (edited) 6y
Tamra @Bookwormjillk 5 min low pressure. 5 min natural release. 👍🏾 6y
Bookwormjillk @Tamra thanks! I‘ll try it this weekend. My kids eat boiled eggs 2-3 times a week. 6y
Kimberlone I love my instapot too! 6y
Tamra @Bookwormjillk I let mine go 7 min before natural release and sit in pot bc they are for dying. You should also look online, but I‘ve done before for eating and it‘s so convenient! 6y
Aseleener I got an 8 qt in December and loved it so much I got a 6 qt in February. I call her "Little Sister". ? 6y
Tamra @Aseleener haha! I don‘t know what size mine is, but sometimes I think I could use two! I am glad however to have two inserts because I often use them as containers for whatever I‘ve made. 😁 6y

It was chilly outside today so naturally I made chili for dinner. (Bad bad pun) I made it in the miraculous InstantPot because I used dried pinto beans and adapted Laura‘s recipe - 1 generously heaping TBL New Mexico chile powder, same TBL regular chili powder, 2 TBL cocoa powder. The NM chile makes all the difference. 😋 Have I mentioned my love for the Ipot before?? 🤔 😆

MrBook InstaPot, @BookBabe ! 6y
KathyWheeler We recently bought one and my husband thinks it‘s the most wonderful thing ever invented.😊 6y
Cortg My hubby got me one mid-December when I thought I wanted to join the instant pot world. I loved it so much I bought a 2nd one in March! I steamed salmon in one and made mushroom risotto in the other for dinner last night 🙂 6y
Zelma My Instant Pot has changed my cooking life. ❤️ 6y

Pickpick

I know all Littens are ever so curious about whether I actually did kill my Instant Pot by dumping everything to make apple sauce in it without the liner pot. 🤦🏾‍♀️🙇🏾‍♀️ Well, I guess I'm an appliance reaper because it didn't work the following morning either after drying out. The upside about getting a new one is now I have two liner pots, if I can remember to use them. 😬 I definitely recommend this book to new Ipot users.

[DELETED] 3803335244 I've been fearful of using a pressure cooker, I was told they can explode? I'm a bit paranoid, I haven't owned a microwave my entire life... 😳 Are they easy to use? Sorry about your broken one. Happy you have 2 liner pots! 7y

Tamra @ForeverNerdy oh not at all! The electric ones have many built in safety features so no worries. It really is a wonderful appliance. I don't use my micro a lot, but this I really like. It has a slow cooker function, among several others, so it is multi purpose. It's so fast! 7y
[DELETED] 3803335244 Oh I love the slow cooker function. I use my slow cooker crock pot at least 3 times a week with our large family, saves me so much time! I think I might try it! Writing it down on my Christmas list! Litsy is killing me, lol 😂 7y
Tamra @ForeverNerdy 😂 I know! Read up on them first - I really appreciate how efficient it is. 7y
ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Im curious about trying one now! (I was also afraid of blowing up the house.) 7y
Tamra @ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled 👍🏾 I used it tonight to steam a half dozen eggs. Minimal fuss or mess. Frozen or thawed foods, soaked or dried foods, all so easy. No babysitting. 7y
LukkiAnn You can buy a special cover lid for one and use it as a storage after cooking and cook in the second one in the same time 👍🏻 the cover is here https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B011HLNE1M/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1506739630&... 7y

ValerieAndBooks I did wonder! Glad there‘s a silver lining to this. 7y

😭😭 I think I toasted my Instant Pot! Boo hoo! Clearly I was distracted by my audio book bc I dumped the apples etc. for apple sauce in the base without the pot. Now the buttons won't work.

Tamra And the crappy thing is that this audio book isn't worth it! 😖😅 7y
Alfoster Oh dang! Cooking is overrated! Fortunately reading isn't!😍😍😍 7y
ValerieAndBooks Oh no! Maybe it‘s new enough that you can exchange it (the instapot, not the audiobook)?! 7y

Graciouswarriorprincess Dang, I just one this weekend. 7y
Tamra @ValerieAndBooks I've had it well over a year and this was a dumb user error. 😑 7y
Tamra @Graciouswarriorprincess I love mine, hence the tears! This was dummy user problem. So, if you just got one, enjoy it! Learn from my mistake (which I guess is common). (edited) 7y
ValerieAndBooks Hmm. Maybe later versions of this will not let it be turned on unless it‘s set up correctly? I don‘t have one but it seems like it‘s getting really popular! 7y
HippieChickHomeschool I had a friend who did the same and it worked after it dried out 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 7y
Tamra @HippieChickHomeschool let's hope! ?? I was thinking maybe the "smart" design recognizes moisture and won't work in order to avoid electrocuting me. ⚡️I'll let it pout over night and maybe it will have forgiven me tomorrow. 7y
Tamra @ValerieAndBooks yes, very popular for good reason. 😉 The problem is you can still dump w/o it being on or plugged in regardless the design, which is what happened. I have learned to be more observant! (edited) 7y
