If you wanna know more about Islam, I recommend
1. The Qur'an (the original source)-I recommend translations by Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Muhammad Asad
2. Prophetic biographies (The Path of Muhammad and In the Footsteps of the Prophet)
3. A book summarizing beliefs (Being Muslim)

Wbabdullah If you want to read books from more contemporary Muslims that's instantly relatable, I'd say give The Autobiography of Malcolm X a try. He went from the Nation of Islam (which deviates from true Islam) to seeing the beauty of Islam. It's right up our alley after reading The Hate U Give! Also check out books by Muhammad Ali. 7y

Wbabdullah For lighter fare that still paints a picture of Islam but through fiction, check out Sophia's Journal by Najiyah Maxfield and The Size of a Mustard Seed by Umm Juwayriyah. Both written by practicing Muslims, and they also delve into issues of racism and are a good follow-up for The Hate U Give. I enjoyed both books very much! 7y

Wbabdullah Now you've inspired me to perhaps change my next read...I might go for The Autobiography of Malcolm X or S.K.Ali's Saints and Misfits which I hear is awesome and also deals with sensitive issues (in this case, sexual abuse). 7y

There's literature but I can't find literature I'd actually want to read for some...in print or on Kindle...in this country.
