August wrap-up: I think I failed to get Emily of New Moon on the board, but I wouldn‘t have a bingo anyway! $18.68 for #pennyperpage this month—it‘s a big month, mostly because it counted the entire Jane Austen collection. Fun month!

This was a lot of fun! I never felt a real connection to the characters—they always felt just a step removed from real—but it certainly was a rollicking steampunk adventure. I did think the world building was very well done and the ending made me grin, so while I don‘t think I‘ll continue this series, I‘ll probably try this author again. August #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
This is fun so far! I‘m not sure how deep it‘s going to get, but I do find the secondary-world steampunk setting deeply satisfying.
“You never say what I wish you‘d say, and you frequently say nothing at all when it‘s clear you should say something, so it‘s not entirely fantastical that you‘d say a certain thing when you mean something else entirely.”

This one was fun! It was a pick from the #TAGBookClub. As I typically do, I took this one in through audiobook format and the narration by Starla Huchton was excellent. The action basically never stopped and the interactions between Amaranthe and the other characters were all great. Big Heist Movie vibes in a good way. Not a book that I would have picked up on my own, but glad that I read it.
Would recommend.
Will be reading this sometime this month as a part of the book club at The Adult Gamer. #TAGbookclub
A surprisingly entertaining read. Not the most captivating or the most character deep books, but it‘s entertaining nonetheless.
It was a very entertaining book if you like fantasy novels. It‘s the start to a series and I‘ll probably grab the next book at some point. While it was good, it didn‘t really stand out from other fantasy books I‘ve read. The secondary characters were really great though. (This is free on kindle)
I must admit I don't get #steampunk at all. I'd never even heard of it until earlier this year. My cousin is reading this novel aloud to me even though she never got around to any of the other book challenge categories. We're only about 30% in six months later because I keep making excuses for her not to read another chapter to me. I hope eventually she'll give up because I couldn't care less about what's happening in the story. :-)
