Keep Her Safe
Keep Her Safe: A Novel | K.A. Tucker
16 posts | 13 read | 14 to read
Making a Murderer meets Scandal in this story of police corruption, family secrets, and illicit affairs from bestselling author K.A. Tucker, celebrated for her dark, twisty tale[s] (Lisa Gardner) filled with clever twists and turns (Publishers Weekly). Noah Marshall has had a privileged life thanks to his mother, the highly decorated chief of the Austin Police Department. But all that changes the night she reveals a skeleton that's been rattling in her closet for years: she doesn't deserve her commendations or her medalsin fact, she deserves to be locked behind bars. When she finally succumbs to the guilt of destroying an innocent family's life, she leaves Noah alone to carry the burden of this shocking secret. Gracie Richards wasn't born into trailer park life, but after fourteen years of learning how to survive in The Hollow, it's all she knows anymore. At least here people don't care that she has a white mother and a black father. And they certainly don't care that her dad was a corrupt Austin cop. Here, she and her mother are just another family struggling to survive...until a man who clearly doesn't belong shows up on her doorstep one night. Together, Noah and Gracie set out to uncover the truth about the Austin Police Department's dark and messy pastbut the scandal they uncover is bigger than they bargained for, and goes far higher up than they ever imagined. Complex, gritty, sexy, and suspenseful, Keep Her Safe solidifies K.A. Tucker's reputation as one of today's most talented new writers of romantic suspense.

Solid mystery thriller about Noah, whose police chief mom just made a drunken confession before shooting herself in the head, and Grace, who is determined to clear her murdered dad's name. As they and the FBI investigate, they uncover some nasty corruption in the Austin PD, and romance brews between Noah and Grace. This opening dedication is a lovely bit of foreshadowing.

Book 88

After the death of his police chief mom, Noah is left with vague clues hinting at a nefarious miscarriage of justice surrounding her ex-partner's death. Slow-pace with a cast of uncharismatic characters, Keep Her Safe was an unappealing read. The twists are predictable. My least favorite book by Tucker. ★★

Seriously enjoying this audiobook! It‘s been awhile since I‘ve read a thriller/mystery (though you know I love the side of romance vibe I‘m getting).

What an amazing story about family secrets and police corruption.
I couldn‘t put this book down. It was so suspenseful and every page so intriguing. It is so crazy the length people will go to make their dreams come true and be successful.

If your looking for a suspenseful thriller this book is it!

STACK THIS BOOK! My library classified it as a romance but I would say it‘s more of a mystery and a dang good one at that! Character development is superb and by characters, I mean every single one. The light that it sheds on the dark world of human trafficking is inspiring. The story grabs you immediately and doesn‘t let go until the very last sentence! 💜 #themrs

ReviewsbytheMrs @RadicalReader oh my gosh, where would I even start?!?! Ok, last year I loved The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter (I like her as an author of the Grant County series and the Will Trent series) and The Dry by Jane Harper. I have Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine on my Kindle TBR. I love Lisa Gardner as a mystery author too. How about you? Any recommendations for me?!?! 💜 7y
