Hickman blends murder mystery with the occult in this spooky take on the hidden forces controlling the financial sector.

An intricate tale of green, corruption, and world domination seen through a shadow cabal and one detective‘s quest to solve a murder hidden behind a curtain of ritual and supernatural evil. Rock on.
I kind of like the ideas that rich people are only rich because they do human sacrifices 🤷♀️
Fascinating take on all powerful money—the banking houses in thrall to it, & the people maneuvering to get a bigger piece of the action. Interwoven with the main storyline—the investigation of a horrific murder—are snippets of backstory which reveal just enough to let you know there is much more. And to worry about whether or not the detective investigating will survive the case. Definite noir feel, great layout & coloring, & intriguing story.
Going with a graphic novel—and another Chicago Comics recommendation—for my next read. As always, I‘m excited to read anything they suggest. Have yet to be disappointed by any of their suggestions. Also picked this up right before I decided to dive deep into my TBR pile so this counts! Book 5 of 50 coming up.
Whoo boy, this was really good. Fascinating story and amazing artwork. What more can you ask for? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2

Don't care. Made me feel stupid. I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what was going on. So I'm done. #dnfandidontcare
This was a hectic week so I didn't get many chances to jump on Litsy to see what everyone was up to. I managed to get a lot of great books though!
My BOTM, Quarterly YA box, and Book Outlet order came in. I also picked up a few books at B&N today. Then after listening to Liberty talk about Rattle by Fiona Cummins on All the Books, I ordered a copy from Book Depository. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for that one! 😃
