To the Edge of the Sky explores the depth of human existence in hardship, and it does it in such a down to earth way that you won't be able to pry yourself away. I couldn't! Full review here: http://bit.ly/2WcGpPi

This autobiography is quite dense at times as it is chock full of history, but Gao‘s life was so intertwined with the rise of &rule of the People‘s Communist Party that there was no way around it.
I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in China around 1940s-1990s. I learned a lot &came away with a better understanding of what China was like, both during &after the Chinese Revolution &Cultural Revolution.
