Age of Swords
Age of Swords: Book Two of The Legends of the First Empire | Michael J. Sullivan
The gods have been proven mortal and new heroes will arise as the battle continues in the sequel to Age of Mythfrom the author of the Riyria Revelations and Riyria Chronicles series. In Age of Myth, fantasy master Michael J. Sullivan launched readers on an epic journey of magic and adventure, heroism and betrayal, love and loss. Now the thrilling saga continues as the human uprising is threatened by powerful enemies from withoutand bitter rivalries from within. Raithe, the God Killer, may have started the rebellion by killing a Fhrey, but long-standing enmities dividing the Rhunes make it all but impossible to unite against the common foe. And even if the clans can join forces, how will they defeat an enemy whose magical prowess renders them indistinguishable from gods? The answer lies across the sea in a faraway land populated by a reclusive and dour race who feel nothing but disdain for both Fhrey and mankind. With time running out, Persephone leads the gifted young seer Suri, the Fhrey sorceress Arion, and a small band of misfits in a desperate search for aida quest that will take them into the darkest depths of Elan. There, an ancient adversary waits, as fearsome as it is deadly. Dont miss any of Michael J. Sullivans Legends of the First Empire novels: AGE OF MYTH | AGE OF SWORDS (Coming soon!) Praise for Michael J. Sullivan If you enjoy epic fantasy, and are perhaps hungering for something with timeless appeal, then I highly recommend picking up Age of Myth. The BiblioSanctum, on Age of Myth Hair-raising escapes, flashy sword fights, and faithful friendship complete the formula for good old-fashioned escapist fun.Publishers Weekly, on Theft of Swords Filled with adventure and clever dialog and featuring a pair of not-quite-heroes whose loyalties to each other provide them with their greatest strength, this epic fantasy showcases the arrival of a master storyteller.Library Journal, on Theft of Swords With less gore and a smaller cast of characters than George R. R. Martins Song of Ice and Fire but equally satisfying, Sullivans epic fantasy will be gaining fans at exponential rates.Library Journal, on The Rose and the Thorn

I enjoyed this second book of The Legends of the First Empire series. Part political machinations, part Tolkien style adventure. It was a lot of fun, and I‘m sure if I had read the author‘s previous series I would be even more connected. As this is book 2 I don‘t want to go into detail, but I really am enjoying this traditional medieval high fantasy series and look forward to continuing the series. 4⭐️

Yes I love audiobooks. Probably about 65% of my reading is listening. I love the dramatic readings and being able to multitask while I enjoy books.
I especially love epic fantasy on audio, currently listening to tagged!

I really like the dramatized Audiobook versions GraphicAudio has made of this series so far!

This series is ok so far, not great but not terrible. Definitely things that annoy me throughout but it has potential and I keep hoping it will get better 🤞🏻🤷🏻‍♀️

To DNF or not to DNF, that is the question 😬

Edit: I finished book 2 but I still don‘t see what everyone else seems to. I‘ll try book 3 but if that is still meh then I‘m done with TLOTFE series 😒

Raithe and Malcolm remain with Pesephone and try to return some kind of order to the small village of Dahl Rhen. However, other forces are determined to make this a difficult task sending giants and storms to destroy a home of centuries. As their first female Cheiftan, Persephone knows that something needs to be done to protect herself and her people. But the question is what will they do and who will lead them?

Half way through. Impossible to put down tonight. Persephone has ended up with a band of women misfits with a variety of talents and purposes. Things are quite ominous at this point.

Not what I had expected in the least! But fabulous all the same. Simple things are only simple once the knowledge is understood... Or something like that! Watching Roan invent things is quite amusing 😝😁👍📚📖

Still chipping away at this one. It's taking me longer to actually finish a book right now cuz I have 5,648 of them going at once right now. 😅

I'm nearing the home stretch on it though and I've really been enjoying it.

Its very much a classic fantasy story with a modern feel about it. Super happy I started this series! 🤘

Only chapter 7... But it just cemented itself as a 5-star book for me. 🙆‍♂️

There was no crazy fight scene or startling revelation. No plot twist or unexpected character reveal. It was, really, just an interlude chapter of people being human to one another.

It reached out & it touched me and fuck a duck I'm so glad I'm a reader!

Words are magic, hey!? ❤️

Branwen Words are magic! That's so true! 📚💕 I'm glad you are enjoying this series so far! I love it so much! 😀 5y

Disclaimer: There are no giant kittens with laser beams shooting out of their eyes in this book. I just added that for fun.

...

Although, this is only chapter 2 so I suppose anything is possible? 🤷‍♂️

This book is a continuation in the Legends of the First Empir The story has action adventure, manipulation, and romance. What more can you ask for? I really like how the women (young and old) were the ones with all the brains, and they saved the day. There was also a bit of intrigue at the end, which definitely sets the stage for the next book. This book has action, intrigue, and humor. I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

So much eye rolling so far in this book. They're only just inventing writing and the wheel? And yet while the dwarves are talking about mixing tin and copper and metallurgy, they're all "haha yeah I totes know what you're saying"? Nyphron is seriously going to side with a group of vermin that had a wheel in their midst ALL THIS TIME BUT DIDNT KNOW WHAT IT COULD DO? Hmph.
