Just these two this week, I‘ve been so busy at work. My nights mainly consisted of cooking, watching Masterchef Australia and on to bed.
Howeber, I managed another #1001books and I adored Sea Wife.
Many different narrators tell what happens one day in post-war Germany when a father, his son, and their families meet. All narrators share memories of their recent past, a dark one for all. It comes together nicely in the end but nothing can be interpreted separately from WWII and its lasting effects on these three generations. #1001books
This was my first experience of Nobel Prize winner Heinrich Böll and he's now one of my favourite authors. The complexity of his narrative as it shifts in time and perspective is matched only by the depth of his characters and his profound insights into human nature. #nine #NovemberByTheNumbers
