“‘Trixie,‘ said Daddy, ‘I think someone has your Knuffle Bunny.‘“
This story is perfect for young readers navigating school and friendships, reminding them that misunderstandings can be solved with empathy and love
“Trixie marched into her mommy and daddy‘s room and said: that is NOT my bunny”
This book uses the same style of illustrations as the first one, with real photographs of the city and illustrations over top of them. It shows how the characters have grown since the first book, and how Trixie is now a few years older.
This is a sequel to the book “Knuffle Bunny” where a little girl has her favorite stuffed animal bunny and loses it. This time, she is older and goes to school, taking her bunny with her. It turns out that another girl has the same bunny and they accidentally swapped bunnies, not realizing until they both got home later that evening.
“One morning not so long ago, Trixie took a walk with her daddy. But now, Trixie really knew how to talk.“ I thought this was a cute quote that shows how much Trixie grew up from the first book!
I think this book is a great introduction to sequels and series. Kids love reading things they are familiar with and characters they know. It also introduces the idea of themes and illustrators having a specific type of style.
“Knuffle Bunny Too: A case of Mistaken Identity“ by Mo Willems, 2007. Caldecott Honor Award. I thought this book was very cute. I loved the first Knuffle Bunny and thought it was a great sequel. Trixie who was a baby in the first book is now taking Knuffle Bunny to school! I really love Willems classic and unique illustrations as well.
This book, a Caldecott Honor book, is about a young girl with a stuffed bunny coming across another girl with the same stuffed bunny. They accidentally exchange the bunnies and they both notice something wrong and go to get their bunny back as well as becoming friends.
I would use this book in my future classroom as a lesson on how we can become friends over similarities. It is a cute book with a comic-like style that is appealing to children, because it is a bit different.
... and that is how tricks found her first best friend.
Sassy girl realizes that is NOT her bunny
Silly story published in 2007 about a stuffed bunny swap and the road back to finding the right toy! Illustrations are extremely cool in this book, and how it uses real life settings along the cartoon characters.
I liked the ending of the book that said “and that is how tricks found her first best friend”
I think this book would be good for kindergarten or first graders who sometimes have trouble going to school without their stuffed animals.
Knufe bunny too won a caldecott award. I liked this book a lot and think it taught a good lesson that you can make friends even if you don‘t like them at first.
“Then they both said, 'I'm glad you got your bunny back!' at the exact same time! And that is how Trixie found her first* best friend.“
* Knuffle Bunny excepted, of course
I thought this book was well written and had engaging illustrations, almost in comic book style. The storyline is cute and depicts how you can overcome differences and hardships in a friendship. I would use this book in my classroom to explain how we can all be friends and find similar interests in one another.
Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity written by Mo Willems. Caldecott Honor book. Two girls who have the same stuffed bunny aren't friends at first but when their bunnies are accidentally exchanged they have to face each other.
“Trixie's daddy tired to explain what “2:30 a.m.“ means. He asked, “Can we deal with this in the morning?“ Trixie's daddy went to the phone.“
This was a really cute story that made me smile! I think that it would be good for any age range!
This is a Caldecott winner. I thought this was a really cute story and the illustrations were too sweet! I think this is a great book that helps kids understand the beauty of friendship. I would recommend this book to any student.
This book would be very relatable to the students because they probably have something they are super excited about and want to show everyone. It‘s a good lesson because even if they have the same toy as someone else instead of being sad they can play with the toys together and it may form a new friendship.
Knuckle Bunny Too A Case Of Mistaken by Mo Willems, 2007. Caldecott Award Winning. Knurled Bunny was a cute story. I thought it was interesting how the author chose to have realistic backgrounds with animated characters and items. I thought it was cute that the girls knew it wasn‘t there bunny and the bunnies brought a new friend ship together.
“And that is how Trixie found her first* best friend.”
This book would be a great first day of school read! It shows the girls bringing toys to school to comfort them, and then how they became best friends from it! I feel like the children would very much enjoy this one!
“Knuffle Bunny Too” was written by Mo Willems in 2007. This book received a Caldecott award as well! From my experience, I have read the other Knuffle Bunny books and this one did not disappoint at all! I loved the friendship the girls created and the fact that they both brought their closest toy, to comfort them on their first day. This might be a very good first day of school read!
Trixie‘s daddy tried to explain what “2:30 a.m.” means. He asked, “Can we deal with this in the morning?”.
The illustrations in those book were AMAZING. I loved how the background of every page was a real life photograph and then the characters were all drawings placed on top. So cool to see.
Knuffle Bunny Too by Mo Willems was written in 2007 and is a Caldecott Honor book. This book was a very fun journey to follow along with. I‘m sure when children hear this book they feel all the emotions Trixie was feeling too. Such as being excited to show off a new toy, the feeling of let down when someone else has the same one and then not having their own toy, but someone else‘s. The illustrations were amazing, real life and drawings combined.
“And the Knuffle Bunnies were back where they belonged.”
The tale of two Knuffle Bunnies who caused fight, then accidentally switched owners. But ended up back to their right owners at 2:30am and new best friends were made! Shows sharing & getting along even if there are problems.
Knuffle Bunny Too by Mo Willams, published in 2007 and a Caldecott winner, is one of my favorite childhood books! It tells the story of Trixie taking her very special Knuffle Bunny to school, then Sonja having the same one! They argue all day and lost their bunnies until the end, but they got back the wrong one. It shows what happens & how the conflict is resolved!
“WUMBY FLAPPY”
This picture book is fiction and was awarded in 2007 for ny times best seller and I would use the teaching strategy RA for this. I would use RA because this book is a short read and can hit on a lot of new vocabulary words with the students. This is by Mo Williams as well as the illustrations. The website that I would use for a lesson plan would be http://mrswillskindergarten.com/knuffle-bunny-lesson-plans/ which will help the children with their
This was an amazing read! I found myself laughing at times. I also appreciate the illustration - the characters were animated;however, the background/scenes were real places. The love that Trixie and Sonja had for their Kunffle Bunnies were great, also the love that their fathers had for them to wake up at 2am to complete such a task shows how much they love their children. I will definitely be adding this to my book collection. #ucflas3414su17
