The Merciless III
The Merciless III: Origins of Evil | Danielle Vega
Horror queen Danielle Vega finally reveals the sinister mystery of how a teen girl named Brooklyn became the epitome of evil in this terrifying prequel to the series MTV calls "Mean Girls meets The Exorcist." Brooklyn knows that theres no good without evil, no right without wrong. And when a helpless girl calls her teen helpline, whispering that someone is hurting her, Brooklyn knows that she needs to save her anonymous caller, even if it means doing something bad. Her parents and friends assure her the call was probably a prankbut Brooklyn has always had a tendency to take over, whether someone has asked for help or not. She discovers the call came from Christ First Church and finds herself plunged into the cultish community of its youth group. She's especially drawn to Gavin, the angelic yet tortured pastor's son. Torn between an unstoppable attraction to Gavin and her obsession with the truth, Brooklyn is forced to make a devastating choice to rid Christ Church of evil once and for all. . . . But the devil has plans for Brooklyns soul. From the Hardcover edition.

Slasher book and fruity craft beer, happy Saturday y‘all 💗 Started book 3 in the Merciless series, Brooklyn‘s origin story. So far I‘m really into it. I‘ve said it before, these are kind of underrated. Great cult teen slasher books
🔪 💕

magyklyXdelish I loved these books and this one was weirdly my favorite out of all of them. I say weirdly because I usually don‘t have any interest in prequels. 3y
reading_rainbow @magyklyXdelish I really liked it! I loved getting to know Brooklyn, I‘m bummed out there is only one more left in the series😢 3y

I went into this one expecting to not like it as much as the other two. I thought knowing how Brooklyn‘s story ended would taint this book for me. It actually made me feel for her even more, gave the book more heart and I actually loved it more than the other ones. 🖤

Now I have to wait until the final one comes in the mail 😩

#116 I love this series 🖤

Caffeinated_Reader I love this series. It‘s got the perfect balance of good and evil. God and Devil. I liked the characters and the storyline. It unfolded magnificently. I will read the final book of this series tomorrow. So far book 2 & 3 are perfect. I didn‘t like the first one lol 5y

These books are a horror version of what I‘d call “book popcorn “ enjoyable, addictive, and just a bit empty/fluffy plot wise. So this one was so-so on the edge of pick.

I enjoyed it but I feel like it lacked something. It took me longer than usual to get through as I felt unmotivated to finish it.

The book itself was good but the series was definitely “tired” by this point.

This was fine. It was kind of fun to read this prequel to the rest of the series, but it mostly made me wish I was reading the next book in the series instead.

Another great page-turner from the queen of teen horror! With so many questions from the first two books unanswered, Danielle clears everything up and explains how the terror all started. I love horror movies and this was like watching a movie play out on screen! Cannot wait for the last book to be published!

1. Arizona
2. Yes! This is my third time. I'm hoping to put in more hours than last time.
3. I heard about the #24in48 readathon on Litsy
4. I'm most excited to read The Merciless 3. I ordered it just in time for the readathon.
5. I have 2 cats, Katniss and Cinna
6. I'll be posting on Litsy as @BekahB

Happy readathon everyone!

Roselyn_Reads Love the names of your cats. 7y
BekahB @Silent_Whispers thanks!! Katniss is Cinna's momma. My friend who fostered Katniss and her kittens named them. When I adopted them, I kept the names because they're my favorite characters from the trilogy. 7y
stephthefruitbat What is the 24 in 48? 7y
BekahB @stephthefruitbat it's a readathon that's held twice a year. People try to read for a total of 24 hours within a 48-hour period. I haven't reached 24 hours yet, but I got closer this time. It's a lot of fun and I get to knock a few books off my TBR! The hosts usually have photo competitions every 3 hours and you can win prizes. I think the next 24 in 48 readathon is scheduled for the end of January 2018. 😄 7y
