Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great
Unicorn Thinks He's Pretty Great | Bob Shea
5 posts | 9 read | 1 to read
Ever since Unicorn moved into the neighborhood, Goat has been feeling out of sorts. Goat thought his bike was cool-until he saw that Unicorn could fly to school! Goat made marshmallow squares that almost came out right, but Unicorn made it rain cupcakes! Unicorn is such a show-off, how can Goat compete? When Goat and Unicorn share a piece of pizza, Goat learns that being a unicorn might not be all it's cracked up to be. And when Unicorn shows his admiration for Goat, it looks like the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

#HumbleHarvest Day 17: Not really #Corn but Uni #Corn. Things were going just fine and dandy for Goat until Unicorn moved in. Goat thought he was pretty special with his bicycle, nearly-perfect marshmallow squares, his signature dance moves. Then Unicorn with his shimmering flight, his storm of cupcakes, and professional prancing moves continually steal Goat‘s spotlight, albeit without really intending to. This adorable and vibrant RF book discuses themes of friendship, jealousy, and individuality with differences! With the world continuing to accept and embrace differences every day, this book is perfect for all elementary grades, as it is a pivotal theme we want our students to understand.

AlexRobinson This book would be great for a PR. Due to the two characters going back and forth through out the book with it ending in friendship and embracing differences in one another, it would be perfect for students to read together and discuss their differences as well as what makes them, them! 4y
AlexRobinson Here is a great link to not only why we partner read but how to make it most effective as well as a video demonstration, focusing on steps 1-6: https://www.readingrockets.org/strategies/partner_reading. The UDL guidelines observed could be 8.3 and 9.3 (fostering collaborating and developing self-assessment and reflection). (edited) 4y
AlexRobinson EL strategies that could be infused with this book could be: 16 and 32 (intergrate speaking, listening, reading and writing activists as well as using student pairs for team learning). These guidelines and strategies will promote collaborate efforts, inclusion, and celebrating individuality! #ucflae3414sp21 4y

I've been trying to convince my friend @Megann886 to join #litsy for months & she FINALLY did! Hooray!

Here she is looking super-happy about eating donuts & drinking a Bloody Mary (which basically sums up our relationship).

Welcome her by giving her a follow & help me convince her to stick around! 🙌🏻
