Jessi Kirbys books just keep getting better and better, and The Secret History of Us is her best yet. It beautifully touches on all the most important things in lifelove, family, friendship, memory, and bacon. I loved it.Morgan Matson, New York Times bestselling author of The Unexpected Everything In this gorgeously written, emotional novel that fans of Sarah Dessen will enjoy, a teenage girl must piece together the parts of her life she doesnt remember after a severe collision leaves her with no memory of the past four years. When Olivia awakes in a hospital bed following a near-fatal car accident, she cant remember how she got there. She figures its because she was in a coma for a week, but as time goes on, she realizes shes lost more than just the last week of her lifeshes lost all memory of events that happened years ago. Gone is any recollection of starting or graduating high school; the prom; or her steady boyfriend Matt. Trying to figure out who she is feels impossible when everyone keeps telling her who she was. As Liv tries to sort out her family and friends perceptions of her, the one person she hasnt heard enough from is Walker, the guy who saved her the night her car was knocked off that bridge into the bay below. Walker is the hardened boy whos been keeping his distance and the one person that has made Liv feel like her old selfwhoever that is. With feelings growing for Walker, tensions rising with Matt, and secrets she cant help but feel are being kept from her, Olivia must find her place in a life she doesnt remember living.

I didn't rate this book higher because the ending was rushed. It was like Kirby was restricted by page count, or perhaps she has another story in the works? Either way, it fizzled, which is too bad because the start of the book was some really great writing.

Olivia wakes up in the hospital to realize she nearly drowned after her car went over the bridge and now she has no memory of the accident or the last 4 years.
This was a quick and easy read. I was a little disappointed after I was done. I think more could have been done with the story lone and characters. Right when I was eating to know the characters the book was done.

*Finally* finished my first book of 2018. 🙄 (The tagged book) I also recommend Moonglass... which I now have to reread, before moving on to Kirby's others. The way she packs emotions into her under 300 page books is #writinggoals.

Missusb I have read all the other three and can recommend them to you. 7y

This is what our reviewer had to say about #TheSecretHistoryofUs by @jessikirby "I really enjoyed how gripping this book was. I didn‘t intend to read it in one sitting, but I found it very hard to put down....This was the first book I had read by Kirby, and I enjoyed her writing style very much...."

Another YA amnesia book? Yep. But I enjoyed this one all the same. The ending was a bit rushed but the rear was really well done. 📚👍🏻
