Noise is epidemic in contemporary life, but people have long complained about the amount of noise and the unavailability of quiet. This book attempts to look at this impulse of humans to fill the ambient space with noise and to find solutions and alternatives that provide the silence for contemplation. Well-researched and full of good information, I felt l like it tried to do a bit too much, but definitely a worthwhile read.
